What's in the Box?

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since we posted an update so I wanted to give you all some information.

After some contact between me and the council unfortunately there will not be any more car-boot sale events this year! The football field is being used every Sunday until the football season comes to and end and therefore we are unable to host our events here, I did inquire about Saturdays but the lines for football field are chalked out on a Friday and any vehicle presence on the field would could churn up the ground and fade the lines. As we are coming into winter September was our last stab at getting another carboot in, however, the weather is against us and the sun rising a bit later in the morning wouldn’t make a great atmosphere for early car-boot events. We hope to catch you all again next year where we can hopefully run all summer long. Huge thanks to everyone who got involved and made the first event a success.

After counting up all the money from the carboot sale we raised £370.81 for MindUK, thank you to everyone for attending we can’t wait to see you at our next event! (TBA)

One of our signs seems to have gone missing! If you or anyone you know might have moved or taken it please contact me on DM. All marketing material was paid out of my pocket in order to put on a charity event and ideally I’d like to keep it and reuse it 👍🏻

Carboot sale and Selwyn Hall fair tomorrow at Box Recreation ground FREE ENTRY & PARKING FOR BUYERS (*Valens Terrace* for sat-nav users) raising money for MindUK. Spaces are available on the door for both the carboot and the selwyn hall however are strictly first come first serve. Sellers in at 7am ready for buyers in at 8am! Rain isn’t due til 3pm so hopefully a nice dry morning. Come down and tell a friend to bring a friend, huge thanks to everyone involved and anybody who’s helped out to make this event happen! We look forward to seeing you all down there tomorrow. Happy car-booting 🚗

Sunday 30th July!
If you’re local or planning on getting public transport check out https://www.firstbus.co.uk and their amazing route planner, simply enter your nearest bus stop then enter the destination as “Box Pharmacy, High St, Box, Uk” and you’ll be dropped at the entrance to the rec! We encourage locals within walking distance not to drive down so we can minimise parking congestion on the rec. 2 days left, hope you’re excited as we are! *spaces still available in the selwyn hall and car-boot*

With only 4 days left til the carboot sale (Sunday 30th July) we want to thank everyone who has showed support so far whether that’s reserving your space or sharing our posts. There is no cost for buyers however it is a charity event so any donation in the charity buckets is massively appreciated 🤝🏻

We have spaces left in both the carboot and the selwyn hall they are first come first serve but most likely will still have some spaces on the day so feel free to turn up and pay on the day (card only). To avoid disappointment we do recommend you pre-pay to reserve your space.

If you’re a seller please arrive as close to 7am as you can so everything is ready for buyers in at 8am.

📢 "What's in the Box" Car Boot Sale - Event Day Run-Down! 🚗🎉

✨ Date: Sunday 30th July
🕖 Sellers' Arrival Time: As close to 7am as possible for set-up
🚪 Buyers' Entry Time: 8am onwards

📢 Important Update:
Due to a shortage of numbers all stalls in the pavilion will merge with the Selwyn Hall for this first event. While this may not be our ideal setup, it's a stepping stone towards making "What's in the Box" a regular affair. With your continued support, we're confident that future events will be even more spectacular!

🥓 Food and Refreshments:
We have an exciting addition to our food and refreshments lineup! Local legend and food vendor, Velicious, will be coming down to serve his mouthwatering delights! The Bowls club will be offering bacon and sausage baps, and will also act as a water station and first aid point for everyone's convenience and safety throughout the day.

🎊 Event End Time:
The event will run until no later than 1pm, ensuring a fantastic morning of shopping, community spirit, and treasure hunting!

📅 Just 7 Days Away:
We're in the final stages of preparation for this exciting event! Stalls are still available, but they're filling up fast. Act quickly to reserve your space and be part of our inaugural "What's in the Box" Car Boot Sale!
