Hey flower friends 🌸

I’m sure lots of you have seen that the hosepipe ban has now come into force. Sadly, because of where I grow, I’m not exempt - which means that as of today, my only option for watering the flowers is a handheld watering can. With the amount I grow, that’s just not realistically possible.

So, for now, I’m almost entirely at the mercy of the weather and praying for rain.

It’s honestly pretty heartbreaking to think that after all the work that’s gone into growing these flowers, the season could be brought to an early end simply because I can’t water them.

For now though, there are still flowers! 🌸

Monday–Friday: find my bunches at The Coffee Girl outside Bradford on Avon train station
This weekend: the Flower Stand will be open as usual

I’m really not saying this just to encourage you to buy flowers, but this genuinely could be one of the last weeks I have plenty available. From here on, a lot depends on whether we get some rain.

So keep everything crossed for a good downpour and if you’ve been meaning to grab some locally grown flowers, I’d probably do it sooner rather than later. 💐

This little idea has been in the making for a while, and tomorrow it finally begins.

I’m so excited that, from tomorrow, you’ll be able to pick up fresh, locally grown flowers from The Coffee Girl outside Bradford on Avon railway station.

It’s something we’re trying out together, so I’ll be starting with a small selection each day and seeing how it goes. If you’re heading for your morning train, why not treat yourself to a coffee… and some flowers too? ☕💐

If you stop by, I’d love to hear what you think - and don’t forget to tag us in your photos!

Yesterday’s flowers all ended up on the compost heap. 💔

The heat got to them before they found a home.

It’s one of the hardest parts of growing truly seasonal flowers. Every bunch is picked fresh, and if it isn’t enjoyed while it’s at its best, there’s no way of saving it for another week.

Thankfully, today’s flowers are looking absolutely incredible. 🌸 Freshly picked, beautifully conditioned, and ready on the flower stand.

If you’re passing this weekend, I’d love for these bunches to brighten someone’s home instead of the compost heap. 💐
