🍌 WELL… YOU ACTUALLY DID IT. 5,000 FOLLOWERS! 🍌

4eveRetro has officially hit 5K on Facebook! 🎉

I’d love to say this was entirely down to thousands of people desperately wanting to see me run 5km dressed as Bananaman…

…but in reality, an old Micro Chips advert i uploaded went a bit mental. 😂

Still, a deal’s a deal.

So for 4eveRetro’s 5th Birthday this December, I’ll be pulling on the tights and running 5K as Bananaman. 🍌🏃‍♂️

The next ridiculous target is **10K followers = 10K as Bananaman**, although that seems highly unlikely…

…unless I upload an old Shake n’ Vac advert and accidentally break Facebook. 😂

BUT HERE’S THE QUESTION…

👀 Does anyone fancy joining me for the 5K?

I’m looking at two possible Christmas runs near Bradford:

🎄 **Bingley**
🎄 **Kirkstall**

You don’t have to dress as Bananaman… 😂

Who’s in? 🍌👇

🤠 **WHEN EVERY KID WANTED TO BE A COWBOY…** 🔫

Back in the 50s, 60s and into the 70s, before tablets, PlayStations and YouTube, there was a good chance a kid just wanted to be a cowboy, sheriff or gunslinger! 🤠

Give them a pair of cap guns, a holster and a cowboy hat and suddenly the back garden was Dodge City. 😂

These came into the shop recently and what started as *“they’re a nice old pair of cowboy guns”* has somehow turned into me spending hours playing CSI: Cowboy Set. 🔎😂

And I've absolutely loved it.

The guns were the first bit to crack. They're matching Lone Star PECOS KID cap pistols, both marked Lone Star – Made in England, with those brilliant red grips.

Then came the holsters…

After disappearing down what can only be described as an internet cowboy rabbit hole, I eventually found an original carded example with the exact same horse-head and horseshoe badge.

Turns out the holsters are DiBro “Li’l Deputy holsters, also Made in England. 🤠

Then there was the belt, buckle and those three little dummy bullets…

Cue even MORE searching. I've been trawling through old toy adverts, collector sites, auction archives and even old Woolworths toy catalogues, comparing belts, buckles and holster sets from around 60–70 years ago. 😂

At one point I found myself zooming into a 1950s Woolworths advert thinking…

"Hang on… that Gene Autry belt looks familiar!" 👀😂

I'm still not 100% certain whether every component originally left the factory together, or whether this was a young cowboy's ultimate custom setup assembled back in the day. But we've now identified most of it and everything certainly looks wonderfully period.

And that's actually been the best part.

Sometimes the fun isn't just finding out what something is worth. It's unlocking the story behind it, learning about forgotten British toy manufacturers and disappearing down a nostalgia rabbit hole looking at toys that kids were dreaming about in Woolworths decades ago.

I genuinely think I've had nearly as much fun researching these as the kid who originally wore them! 😂🤠

Lone Star Pecos Kid cap guns ✅
DiBro Li’l Deputy holsters ✅
Mystery cowboy belt… investigation ongoing! 🔎**

This is exactly why I love old toys.

Who remembers the **Coca-Cola Yo-Yo craze?** 🪀

Collecting ring pulls from Coke cans, Russell Spinners and suddenly EVERYONE in the school playground was trying to **Walk the Dog!** 😂

And if you got one of those elusive **Gold Spinners**… you were basically playground royalty! 👑

🚨 BUSTED! 🚨
4everetro Customer of the Week
Caught in the act of buying toys again! 🤫😂

This week’s culprit is Ste!

Ste was on his way to York for a family holiday and somehow managed to turn the journey into a little detour via 4eveRetro. 😂

He’s been a long-distance follower of the page for many years, so it was brilliant to finally meet him in person, have a good chat and, of course, send him on his way with a few retro goodies!

Thanks for calling in, Ste — hope you and the family had a fantastic time in York! 🙌

📸 Fancy getting BUSTED yourself?
If you’d like to be our next BUSTED! Customer of the Week, just ask us in the shop when you make your purchase and we’ll grab a photo.

Just remember… what happens in 4eveRetro stays in 4eveRetro (well apart from when we plaster it all over social media). 🤫😂
