I began experimenting with clay a few years ago but I had no way to fire the pots I'd made. So 18 months ago I bought a second-hand kiln! Making your own bonsai pots means you can get the right size and style for a particular tree. I tried a variety of shapes and sizes to see what might work well!

A very old and very slow-grown shimpaku juniper from the end of someone's collection. Restyled and repotted to provoke some growth in foliage that had become 'blind' (green but has stopped growing). This should shock it into regrowth.

What everyday items do you use for bonsai?!

It's finally time to say goodbye to the first benches we had in the nursery. I built them around 5 years ago with wood from an old barn and they've lasted well but now they have succumbed to the elements. Thank you for your service good and faithful benches 🫡
