This week we had the pleasure of delivering fashion design workshops in the beautiful Victoria Hall, Shipley in partnership with Shipley College during Sustainable Fashion Week.
T-Level Textile students were encouraged to reuse and recycle a range of end-of-line fabrics to create their outfits ✂️🧵🪡

What a fabulous day spent with Kayleigh .uk learning all about natural dyes using a selection of our silk fabrics.

We learnt how to mordant the fabrics to help the dyes take before choosing our colour palette.

Logwood created the purple and lavender tones, marigold, coreopsis and pomegranate for the yellow and cochineal for the pink.

We dip dyed the fabrics layering and building the tones, experimented with holly hocks, cochineal beetles, iron and lemon juice...the results are stunning 💜💛🧡

Fabrics used: Dupion Silk, Crinkle Silk and Silk Tulle.
