Hi guys, so today was our official last working day at the Bradford branch of Global Educational Trust, sadly the bookshop closed a couple weeks before…we are gutted and hope to still find new premises within Bradford, we are still looking every single day and doing all we can….until then please support our other branches, nearest to us currently is in Dewsbury prince of wales shopping centre, and Huddersfield which is located in the pack horse. We are soon to be opening our new shop in Selby but appreciate it is a distance (it is for us too)and travel isn’t possible for some of our regulars- both customers and volunteers alike . We are sorry for that. Again, thankyou so very much for your continued support and custom toward the charity- the past few years, it really has become a community as opposed to just a shop(s) and we are so grateful to have had you ❤️ we hope you will continue to support us moreso if we do manage to get shop(s) back in the town centre…but for now?!?! Watch this space and any information comes our way we will announce here or directly if I have your number/you have mine. Until then?! Onward and upward in helping the charity evolve further,

Come grab your bargains at the charity shop while you can- we have only one week left- we close Saturday 13th June 2026, so next Saturday. We are still giving away books and are rotating them on a daily basis- Soon as they are coming in we are getting them out and gone- there’s a decent selection of both fiction and non fiction that will be available to you until this time next week. Both floors merged into one now so you will find small furniture and bric a brac along with other items without having to do the stairs…bonus eh?! Clothing, handbags, shoes now all half price with further reductions across many other items in the shop- cheers. Laura and John ❤️😘

Hi guys, this is not the announcement I wanted to make but unfortunately it has to be done.

As many of you know (from visiting in store) it comes with great sadness to say the Bradford branch of GET free books and the charity shop are closing down. This is not our decision, both shops have been a great success for 6+ years with me running the book shop for 2 1/2 and John manager of the charity shop for nearly 5. This is due to the planned demolition of Kirgate market/shopping centre 😔.

I will be closing the bookshop officially this coming Monday 11th may as we have to leave by the 18th June. Whilst this may appear premature, we do have two shops to pack and relocate. Unfortunately we currently don’t have anywhere to go. So whilst we remain positive and hopeful to find somewhere, as of right now it’s highly unlikely we will before our leaving date. As and when we are able to secure a new shop(s) (either one big enough to merge like previous premises or two separate) we hope to find somewhere in Bradford; but again we may end up having to move out of town.

Our nearest branch of the book shop is Dewsbury or Huddersfield, we have branches further afield. However, Bradford holds the only charity shop currently- in the near future we hope to evolve and have more branches of the charity shop. To compensate the book shops early closure, we aim to set up a section of the downstairs of the charity shop in which there will be a small selection of fiction and non fiction books you can still have access to. Whilst not ideal, it’s the best we can offer given the circumstance.

We’ve decided to hold a flash sale from this coming Monday (I will do another post explaining this and update as the week goes on) but the ground floor is going to be everything there half price meaning you get some right bargains- who doesn’t love a bargain?!?! When it’s gone it’s gone so don’t miss out 😊😊

We want to express our gratitude and appreciation to all customers for your custom, but also to both past and present volunteers. Offering your time, efforts and hard work to volunteer and support a charity we hold dear to our hearts, we are humbled and appreciate every single one of you no matter how big or small a role you played. We wouldn’t have got this far without you, so thankyou we are eternally grateful! 😊❤️

As soon as we have news regarding a new shop(s) I will be posting on here, I will keep you updated as and when we know.
