It's the question that comes up in nearly every consultation we host at our Wilmslow showroom: freestanding bath, or walk-in shower? π
If you only had room for one, which side would you be on?
After 40 years of designing bathrooms across the North West, we can tell you this is the single most contested decision our clients make. And honestly, there's no wrong answer, only the right answer for how you actually live.
A freestanding bath becomes the anchor of the room. It's sculptural, slows you down, and turns a small footprint into something that feels considered. But it needs space to breathe, and a quick rinse before work isn't really its strength.
A walk-in shower earns its keep every single morning. Done well, with proper falls, the right substrate and quality sealants, it'll still look beautiful in fifteen years. It gives you back floor space too, which matters in a typical North West family home.
The truthful conversation we have with most clients? It usually comes down to bath time with little ones, resale value, and whether you genuinely soak or just think you should.
So tell us. Bath or shower, which side are you on? π
