🥰 After a lot of thought, quite a few conversations over a coffee (or two!), and no small amount of emotion, we have decided that the time has come for us to take the next step and put House of Farnell up for sale at the end of this year.

We wanted to tell you ourselves, because House of Farnell has never just been a business to us. It has been a huge part of our lives, and so many of you have become part of the Farnell story along the way.

We’ve shared countless coffees, lunches, cakes, Christmases, celebrations, catch-ups and conversations with you. We’ve watched little ones grow up, welcomed new faces, got to know generations of families, and have been lucky enough to see so many familiar faces come through our doors time and time again.

And, of course, there have been the wonderfully chaotic days when the coffee machine, kitchen, shop and our sanity have all been working overtime! 😂

We are incredibly proud of what we have built together and of the lovely business that House of Farnell has become. We have no intention of disappearing quietly just yet, though! There is still a busy autumn and Christmas ahead of us, and we intend to enjoy every single minute of it.

Our hope is to find the right person to take House of Farnell forward as a going concern, so that this very special place can continue to welcome customers and make memories for many years to come.

We know some of you may be surprised by this news, and we completely understand that it may feel a little strange to imagine Farnell without us. It feels strange to us too.

But sometimes, after giving something your heart for many years, you know when it’s time for a new adventure (and there will be another adventure! 😉😁). ❤️

So, for now, it’s very much business as usual. Come and see us, enjoy a coffee, have some lunch, browse the shop, stock up for Christmas and, most importantly, give us plenty of reasons to put the kettle on!
