😻 It was a real challenge to photograph this piece! The colours are so beautiful, it’s hard to capture them with my phone camera 😅 After trying a million different backgrounds, trusty old brown packing paper came to the rescue and shows the colours at their truest 😻 I’ll be popping this on my website later on today 😻 Link in bio 😻

😻 The results of my adventures with the kiln this week 😻 I’ve had my kiln since I was about 15 years old (so not long really 😉) and learnt to enamel in a tiny studio in Rochester. I also apprenticed as a dental technician, making the metalwork inside crowns and bridges and making gold crowns. I have a deep love for working with metal and making beautiful things 😻 These will all be coming with me to tomorrow 😻

😻 I’ve had the kiln going recently, so hopefully I’ll have a couple of new finished pieces of enamelled jewellery for Staplehurst Food & Craft Market this Sunday 😻 Enamelled items that I make are melted glass powders onto copper shapes (mostly copper shaped like cats 😹) and then made into necklaces using recycled silver, including sterling silver jump rings. I’m planning to try earrings too, so I’ll be using stainless steel parts for those. Apart from increasing the longevity of the pieces, it also means it’s kinder on folks like me with sensitive skin ❤️😻❤️

😻 Merry International Cat Day 😻 (isn’t it always? 😹😹)
To kick start the weekend, I’ve got very cold and yummy alcohol-free beer and a stack of catnip toys to sew and get ready for the always epic Kent Cat Centre summer fair next weekend ❤️😻❤️ Currently accompanied by Money Heist on Netflix. I love a good heist film, well series in this case, how about you? All recommendations gratefully received 😻
