In four weeks time the Gryffe Valley Book Festival will be welcoming award-winning presenter and wildlife cameraman, Gordon Buchanan who will be kicking off the Gryffe Valley Book Festival 2026 🎉

Gordon's credits include amongst many things, the Planet Earth series.

He will be in conversation with arts writer and journalist Nicola Meighan at Kilmacolm Primary on Friday 11th September at 7pm and we can't wait!

In the Hide is Gordon's best-selling account of a challenging childhood in Glasgow and Mull, and the escape and solace he found – and continues to find – in the natural world around him.

We're heading to Johnstone on Saturday for their Fire Engine Rally!! Find us there with lots of fire engine books 🚒 among other things 😄

𝗔𝗗: The Fire Engine Rally returns to Johnstone on Saturday 15th August!

It kicks off with a spectacular parade of vintage vehicles, setting off from Johnstone Fire Station, heading down Thorn Brae to Houstoun Square.

The vehicles will then be on display for the rest of the day in Houstoun Square, where an afternoon-long party of music and entertainment will take place.

A huge thank you to everyone who has picked up a copy of the Gryffe Valley Book Festival programme so far! We are a community book festival and rely very much on your community support, so thank you 🥰

We've been out and about dropping off more programmes over the last couple of days! 😃

You'll now find copies at Kilmacolm and Bishopton libraries, at the Little Garden Library Bishopton and the Chest, Heart & Stroke Charity shop in Kilmacolm.

We also topped up Punto, Cairn and Birkmyre Cafe in Kilmacolm.🤗
