Thank you for being so patient with me whilst I took some time off to focus on my health. I realise the shop has been closed for much longer than I anticipated but it has taken longer than I expected to get back to a non-burntout baseline.

I’ll be honest, I am a little nervous to jump straight back in with full opening hours as although I’m feeling a lot better I don’t want to push my luck and find myself back at square one. SO here is the plan…

I will be trialling a phased return where the shop will be open on an ad hoc basis to start with so I can gauge my capacity. The first day we will be open is
SATURDAY 18th APRIL from 10am - 1pm.

Further opening dates and times will be posted here as and when so check back in occassionally to stay up to date :)

I know this is not ‘standard practice’ for a small business and it means this passion project is not particularly financially viable but I love books and the little cosy bookshop I have created so I’m not ready to give up on it just yet.

I look forward to seeing you on Saturday 18th April :)

In case you missed it I had to make the hard decision to close the bookshop early for Christmas due to my health being unmanageable. I was hoping to reopen again sometime in January but it is looking more likely that it will be reduced hours in February (hopefully).

I am sorry for any disappointment this has caused but as someone with multiple chronic illnesses I simply do not have the energy or capacity to open currently and have to look after myself.

I am disappointed myself as I love my little bookshop and am so proud of what I've created. I miss being surrounded by shelves of books and chatting with you all when you visit.

I am determined to get back to a place with my health that I can return (in some capacity) but as any small business owner knows, your business can only thrive if you do and right now it's more surviving and less thriving 😅

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and are feeling better than I am 😉
