This is why I'm not growing ball or pompom dahlias in future. This little bee spent nearly half an hour on this one flower. .

Vitex agnus-castus
This lovely shrub is blooming happily in the drought and heat this August. It's called Chaste Tree or Vitex agnus castus according to the Plantnet app and comes from the Mediterranean. I am definitely sourcing this for the future.

Despite retiring and closing my floristry business last year, I love keeping my hand in. This is a funeral arrangement made yesterday for a loyal local customer's father.

All those years growing for my floristry business have left a legacy of shrubs, bulbs and herbaceous perennials that are great for floristry. Only self-seeded annuals these days as the old annual beds are dedicated to vegetables.
