⚓️ Siwrengale ⚓️

Built in 2003 by Parkol Marine Engineering in Whitby, Siwrengale is a 14.95m steel-hulled fishing vessel with a seawater vivier tank, keeping the catch fresh and alive until it reaches shore.

Owned and operated by a local fishing family, Siwrengale is steeped in family history. Her name is formed using letters from the skipper’s wife and three children, reflecting the family’s commitment to the business and the important role each of them plays.

Some of you may even recognise Siwrengale from the TV series Trawlermen, where she was featured showing the hunt for whelks.

Siwrengale is a great example of a hardworking, family-run fishing vessel that combines practical design with a story that’s deeply rooted in tradition and the local fishing industry.

Exercise Notice – Multi-Agency Training in Bridlington Bay

Tomorrow evening (Friday 3 July) at approximately 5.30pm, volunteers from RNLI Bridlington, Flamborough RNLI , the , Bridlington Coble Preservation Society, and cadets will be taking part in a joint training exercise in the bay.

The exercise will focus on practising man overboard procedures, helping crews and partner organisations to work together effectively in a realistic scenario.

RNLI Bridlington’s inshore lifeboat Ernie Wellings
RNLI Flamborough’s Atlantic 85 Elizabeth Jane Palmer

Please note this is a planned exercise and there is no cause for concern if you see multiple vessels operating in the bay. Training like this is vital to ensure crews are fully prepared to respond when it matters most.

⚓️ Independent ⚓️

Independent joined our fleet in 2022 and is part of the same company that operates Siwren in the harbour.

Built in 2000, she features a Cygnus hull and is powered by a reliable 16k Ford engine. Strong, capable, and dependable, Independent has become a valued member of the fleet.

She is one of only two vessels operated single-handedly, with her skipper well known for taking challenging conditions in his stride and never being easily deterred by rough weather.

A true workhorse with plenty of character.

Come along to Bridlington RNLI Lifeboat Station between 10am-4pm and:

Meet local organisations (including your RNLI crew 👋)

Visit the Marine Mammal Rescue Team Display and learn how seals and other sea mammals are looked after when they are in trouble.

Experience the sights and sounds of a working harbour

It’s a fantastic day out for all ages — we’d love to see you there!
