South Street Bridport Celebrating the independent shops and original culture of Bridport. Don't forget to sample the local food at the many surrounding farm shops.

South Street is a creative and vibrant neighbourhood with a rich history including one of the oldest Markets in Dorset. Lots of interesting shops and cafes around the corner from the Vintage and Antique shopping hub of St Michael's Estate. Market days are Saturday and Wednesday where you can buy anything from a WIFI speaker to retro antiques. If you like cider you will be in paradise. Local cider

can be found in the Woodman Hotel with many local cider sheds open for free sampling and of course to takeaway.

In 1999 I went to Chicago with my Dad, Mum and my brother. Dad was in the final stages of cancer and it was a really tough time. I will never forget the unexpected joy of being surprised by the herds of cows in the busy streets of Chicago. See Photo. It lifted us up out of the material world into something more playful and whimsical. We took lots of happy photos and my art brain was very excited by the colour and what was some really interesting content.

I'm sure the 'Elephants' coming to Bridport and the coast will also be able to have that sense of joy. Isn't it just what we need a bit more of at the moment?
