Happy World Bicycle Day! Exploring on two wheels is one of our favourite ways to have an adventure, big or small, near or far. From the wilds of Wales, to the gravel of Scotland and the plains of Kyrgyzstan, our meals have been shoved in panniers, saddlebags, backpacks and even strapped to the front forks of bikes. So here’s to more adventuring by bike, we’d love to know what routes you're off to explore next.

It's been wetter than an otter's pocket in parts of the UK recently!

Luckily, our meals are pretty good on cold wet days. Take our Baked Apple Porridge. A handmade mix of rolled organic porridge oats, freshly squeezed lemons, warming spices, sweet raisins, demerara sugar and one whole baked apple baked in each pouch. It's guaranteed to warm you up in the morning and keep you going until lunch time, or until the sun comes out.

At Firepot, we feel it’s important to give a wide range of people the opportunity to get outdoors and feel the benefits of being in nature. That’s why we team up with TurnWild every year to take a group of young people camping. We call it 'Firepot Firsts' — after all, a 'first' can belong to anyone, and should be celebrated.

It's our way of helping the next generation to love and care for the outdoors as much as we do. Teaching navigation skills, passing on camping techniques, and of course, cooking tips — we’re doing it all again this week. We can’t wait to see it all through the eyes of our 2026 students.
