So I never planned to be a restorer. Today's efforts, a garden chair with 100+ year old mahogany slats and a 1920's garden bench. On top of that I gave the garden fountain it's annual clean. The dogs are now sniffing my ankles and peeing on my leg because I smell like pond w**d.

Cream crackered doesn't cut it. We have both been up since sparrow fart getting items ready for tomorrow's vintage market at all the Bridport Arts and vintage center. AKA the CV Alleyways.
So we have home made soap and candles. I have finished (finally) the Victorian/Edwardian card table and the 1922 Gustav Becker clock.
Just hoping the weather holds.

It's been a busy week. Lots of metal polishing and restoration work. The highlight was the enamel top scullery table dating from the 1940's. It only needed a coat of new french chic paint and some elbow grease to make it as good as new. A nice retro addition to someone's home. Recently I added clock repair to the skills list. Watch this space as hopefully there will be a couple of very unusual long case clocks on display at unit 28.

So that's brought you all up to date. This week I'm making lamps from old Carboys and restoring an Edwardian envelope card table. The vintage fair is the last of the year and it's on the last Sunday of the month (31'st). Hoping at least for a dry day and up to an extra 30 traders. I'm going to have a man cave table set up. Come down and grab a bargain.

So recently we have moved again to an even bigger unit in the Alleyways at Bridport. We are taking a risk and trying to expand what is really a hobby. The folk down there are fantastic and real fun. It's great to spend time with people who love the past and quality as well as quirky things. The unit was sorted and then we found a display item that makes us look like a real shop. Photos to follow soon, but for now a few pictures of how we got it to look just after the move.

If you wonder why we call ourselves Blue Note then wonder no longer. Blue Note is an art and musical term, but in our case it's because we love all things blue. Bristol blue glass and blue and white ceramics. Yes we sell things but mainly to fund our own collection. You could call us the ultimate upcyclers. These are just a few things on our kitchen shelves that are not for sale.
