When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

What did you actually end up doing?

I wanted to be horse riding instructor, then a vet but my 2 weeks work experience put me off 😬 Then I wanted to be a photographer and then I didn’t know 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️😂😂

Now after a degree and postgraduate degree I’m a dog walker!

For those with kids: a list of UK places where they can eat for free during summer holidays 2023. Feel free to share/copy and paste.

ASDA – In Asda Cafe, children eat for £1 every day until the end of the year, with no adult spend required.

BEEFEATER/BREWERS FAYRE – Two children under 16 can get a free breakfast every day with one paying adult during the summer holidays. An adult breakfast costs £9.99 and is served until 10.30am every day.

BELLA ITALIA – At Bella Italia, children eat for £1 with any adult main meal. The offer is valid from 4pm until 6pm, Monday to Thursday.

BILL'S – Two children eat free all day from July 24 until September 1 when one adult orders any main dish. Does not include Saturdays and Sundays.

DUNELM – At Dunelm Pausa cafes, children get one mini main, two snacks and a drink free with every £4 spent after 3pm.

FARMHOUSE INN – Two children eat for free per paying adult Monday to Friday at Farmhouse Inns. The deal runs from July 24 until September 8.

GORDON RAMSAY RESTAURANTS – Children under 8 eat free all day, every day, at selected Gordon Ramsay restaurants with every paying adult. Available at Heddon Street Kitchen, all Bread Street Kitchen & Bars, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill, Pizza East and York & Albany.

HUNGRY HORSE – At Hungry Horse, two children eat for £1 on Mondays with every full paying adult.

IKEA – Children get a meal from 95p daily from 11am. Excludes IKEA Hammersmith and order and collection points.

MORRISONS – At Morrisons, children eat free, all day, every day when an adult purchases a main meal for £4.49 or more.

PREMIER INN – Two children eat breakfast for free when one adult buys a full breakfast. Breakfast is normally served every morning from 6:30am until 10:30am on weekdays and from 7am until 11am during weekends and bank holidays.

SAINSBURY'S – At Sainsbury’s cafes, children eat for free with the purchase of an adult hot main meal costing £5.20 or more. This is available from 11.30am until September 3 - after this, children can eat for £1.

SIZZLING PUBS – Children can eat for just £1 at any Sizzling Pub. The deal is every Monday to Friday, 3pm until 7pm, when an adult purchases a main meal.

TESCO – Children eat free in Tesco cafes when an adult spends as little as 60p and scans their Clubcard. This deal will start from July 24 and finish on September 1 in England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, the deal is live now until August 11, or if you live in Northern Ireland, it is available from now until September 1.

TRAVELODGE– At Travelodge, two children eat breakfast for free when one adult buys a full priced breakfast. Breakfast is normally served every morning between 7am at 10am on weekdays, and between 8am and 11am during weekends and bank holidays.

WHITBREAD INNS – Two children under 16 eat for free with every adult breakfast purchased.

YO! SUSHI – Children eat free with every £10 adult spend from July 17 until August 11.

‼️ REMINDER ‼️
Please DO NOT walk your dogs out in this heat!!

The amount of dogs, especially brachycephalic breeds, I’ve seen been walked in high temperatures is quite frankly appalling!

I’ve cancelled all dog walks this week due to the high temperatures & doing house calls for toilet breaks in gardens only.

I’m walking my own early morning ie 6.30am (yes I’m struggling to get up that early 🙃) and after 8-9pm if the temperatures have dipped. Just because it’s ‘after work’ or evening and feels a bit cooler doesn’t mean that it’s safe for your dogs.

There is no excuse to be walking when it’s so warm regardless of the time of day…. Check the temperature before any walks.

Todmorden Town Hall are hosting an Anne Lister themed Ball, Friday 31st March.

🕺 No dancing experience required, as all dances will be called.
👗Dress Code: Period dress preferred 1790 -1840, or your own interpretation of it.
🎼Music provided by The Pemberley Players. There is a practice session for beginners 2pm – 4pm in the Ballroom included in the ticket price.
🥪A cold buffet will be provided including vegetarian and vegan options. There will be a bar available to purchase drinks and water will be provided.

We will be at this fabulous event next week with our amazing selection of secondhand books.

We are very nearly at our target of £2000 for and once we do all remaining donated books will be sent direct to Overgate’s Donation Centre for distribution across Calderdale.

This is just our GoFundMe total and doesn’t include the £215 we raised at the (which went direct to on the day) and the two book stalls and busking this past week (which is £130 and needing to deposit in to the bank and then our GoFundMe page)

So our actual total thus far is £1392!!
