As much as I love to cook, my kitchen was made for dancing and will forever be home to the kitchen disco! It really doesn’t matter what time of day, who’s here (or isn’t) if I’m in the kitchen, even just for a snack, the music will be on and I will be dancing 🪩✨

🌴80s Nostalgic Cocktail People🌴
This one is for my nostalgic, 80s music loving cocktail people. And, to me anyway, nothing says iconic 80s and cocktails more than wham and club Tropicana! But if you want to know why I simply had to create this sign then keep reading!

Growing up, Wham! music was played continuously, at home, at family parties and the car… always in the car! If we weren’t singing (probably really, really badly) in the car then we were making up dance routines and club Tropicana in particular had a rather spectacular routine… I may or may not remember the entire routine and couldn’t possibly confirm if I bust out a few of the moves after a couple of cocktails… 💃

Every time I hear that intro it sparks an involuntary smile, my shoulders start to twitch and the b***y get shaking, I have no control over this and I love it. And that’s the feeling I get when I look at this sign, it makes me smile and it’s brings back those core memories, those exact feelings! And that’s what I want to pass onto the world, that feeling, that moment in time when nothing else matters and it’s just pure joy and nostalgia, maybe even making those memories with your own children!

But this sign needed something a little extra special, the standard paints (as gorgeous as they are) just weren’t going to cut it for this particular design. And that’s why I went with the fluorescent paints, I wanted to give the vibe of a neon sign but without the hassle of having to hide wires. To make this piece glow all you need is a UV/black light bulb and voila, hello neon sign! The added bonus of using fluorescent paints means that the sign looks just as vibrant, just as bold and colourful during daylight hours too and for me that was a win, win!

✨Back through the archive✨
Come and have a peek through my archive with me at some of my earlier designs. Some of them worked and helped build and shape the direction of Salt and Pebble Designs, others weren’t quite as good! And there’s nothing wrong with that. I’ll share some of my first even designs with you all one day, you can really see the difference and how I’ve perfected my craft over the years, there are some truly terrible designs in there 😂

I’m going back through some of my old designs, there are quilts literally hundreds of half started designs and ideas that I need to bring to life! What would you like to see? The bright, bold and fun creations are most certainly what you guys enjoy the most! ✨Signs and Wall Art✨
For my people who are bored of the same A4 prints and AI generated art. I have a little something for you! Don’t get me wrong, I love a good print, especially if it’s supporting a small business, but I just love the versatility and the different options you get when creating signs!

See, you’re not limited to a rectangle, or a size. You can quite literally choose any shape, design and colours you like. You want a croissant shape for your kitchen wall, no problem! You want bold 3D layering, absolutely! You want to customise your text in an art deco inspired street sign, well of course you can! The possibilities are endless (yes I know it’s a cliche, but it’s also so very true!).

Why settle for the same shape, size and artwork as everyone else? You are unique and your decor has every right to be as well 🫶

✨Custom Creation✨
Let’s just take a minute to appreciate a particularly fabulous custom order that I was honoured to bring to life! These two were actually created for wedding decor, how cool is that!

We took our kitchen disco sign and gave it a bit of a groovy make over, we supersized the design and went for the larger size and made a few changes to bring a fun and bold element to the wedding decor! We added this silver border to the text to really make it pop and gave us the opportunity to add in the fourth colour to go with the colour theme for the day. The second sign we swapped out the kitchen disco text for hot tub hideaway… any wedding with a hot tub has my vote!

✨Spooky Season✨
Is it too soon to talk about Halloween? I find myself in denial at the start of September, still clinging onto the chance of just one more beach day, one more opportunity to bask in the sunshine before the weather really changes and autumn settles in for good! I’m a summer gal, always have been and always will be! How about you are you ready for the seasons to change?

We’ve promised the kids a Halloween party this year and we love to decorate the house and get dressed up for trick or treating, so we’re in party planning mode right now. And these super cute fluorescent signs will be taking centre stage, obvs!
