Luna climbing holds

Sanding the climbing brushes takes a long time and it’s a dusty job. Once I’ve prepped the blanks and rough cut the shape I first have to shape them on the belt sander before the fine sanding starts. Two passes with the orbital sander then a final hand sand before the finish is applied and they are ready for filling.
I’m about half way through sorting this batch and my arms are killing. Lots of new woods in this lot. Maple, ash, Thermo ash, walnut, lacewood, paduk beech, oak, sapele. 🤙

This mixed spray wall set of handmade climbing holds has just been added to the webshop. A lovely selection of beautiful hardwoods and a mix of different climbing hold styles. In this batch there is walnut matchable rail, a sapele low profile pinch/double sided curves edge crimp, a spalted ash rounded edge, a wenge deep rounded edge open hand hold zebrano incut edge and a tulip edge. Awesome colours and grain that would be a great addition to any wall.

Big matchable oak jug climbing hold that comes with a walnut crimp to mount on it. Could work well as central hold to pass through or a top hold. On a steep wall it might be interesting to flip the crimp for an undercling. Loads of setting possibilities with these two beautiful handmade holds.

Probably my favourite set of climbing holds I’ve shaped since the summer. Some beautiful spalted ash, purple heart, lacewood, beech and ipe beautiful figure and grain.
