The Celestion Speakers G12T-75 - one of the best speakers for metal - loaded into our Reformer 112 🔊

We've been asked to showcase more "metal" tones for a while now - and whenever we find a speaker that 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 in theory do the job, we're often not too convinced (and neither are the metalheads, as it happens!)

We believe the stock driver we load into all of our cabs (the Vintage 30) does the job very nicely but, as it turns out, it doesn't get along with many of you!

However, the G12T-75 boasts a tightly controlled, massive bottom-end and aggressive upper-mid cut, reminiscent of the tones achieved by 80's and 90's thrash metal guitarists. Modern metal guitarists - specifically those not relying on Quad Cortex's or alike - is there a speaker on the market that stands out to you?

And although we've been asked to "turn off the pedals and dime the amp" multiple times, there's always room for a little bit more gnarl, so we're using our Machinist to combine a fuzz tone WITH a dimed amp by utilising the clean channel to get some doom-y sounds.

We should really invest in a bigger amp at some point... leave your recommendations in the comments!

All black Super Compact twins 👯‍♂️

Our unique textured paint finish, hand-stretched black grill cloth with custom black piping, and our custom 12XN driver combine to deliver the very high sensitivity of a pro-audio mid-bass driver, the huge excursion of a pro-audio subwoofer, and a response curve optimised to sound great both on and off-axis with bass guitar. Massive output AND awesome tone.

The Super Compact can replace cabs twice its size, with more than twice the cone area, thanks to its huge cone excursion, massive power handling, and high sensitivity. It is even smaller and lighter than the Big Baby 3 due to its minimalist design: no crossover, no HF driver or tweeter, just clean highs that roll off smoothly in the mid-upper treble region. The smaller enclosure gives it a more conventional bass cab sound in the lows, with extra fatness and thump.
