The 15:24 🗣️

It all started with 15"s here at Barefaced. After experimenting with the Celestion BN15-400X in our bass-baritone hybrid guitar cab - the Upsizing 1215BB - we shared our findings with the internet.

The internet spoke: 15" Barefaced bass cabs needed to return.

So, here it is!

For decades, 15" cabs were commonplace on the bass scene, so we wanted to pay homage to a small handful of incredible bass players who might have benefited from the 15:24 back in the day.

We’re only producing the 15:24 and 30:24 in small batches. The first run sold so quickly that we decided to make another - so get them while they’re hot! 🔥

The Celestion Speakers G12T-75 - one of the best speakers for metal - loaded into our Reformer 112 🔊

We've been asked to showcase more "metal" tones for a while now - and whenever we find a speaker that 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 in theory do the job, we're often not too convinced (and neither are the metalheads, as it happens!)

We believe the stock driver we load into all of our cabs (the Vintage 30) does the job very nicely but, as it turns out, it doesn't get along with many of you!

However, the G12T-75 boasts a tightly controlled, massive bottom-end and aggressive upper-mid cut, reminiscent of the tones achieved by 80's and 90's thrash metal guitarists. Modern metal guitarists - specifically those not relying on Quad Cortex's or alike - is there a speaker on the market that stands out to you?

And although we've been asked to "turn off the pedals and dime the amp" multiple times, there's always room for a little bit more gnarl, so we're using our Machinist to combine a fuzz tone WITH a dimed amp by utilising the clean channel to get some doom-y sounds.

We should really invest in a bigger amp at some point... leave your recommendations in the comments!
