Southdown Road Street party was epic! The children made some wonderful pieces and did amazing work. We made fathers day cards, the children decorated hats and bows and drew pictures or whatever they fancied while adults of all ages either supervised or helped depending on the ages of the children and one adult group even got involved and I was told not to ask what the writing meant on their piece and I won't π€£π. It was so sweet to see the dads and gradads and mums and aunties and the children etc come back to pick up the things they made once they were dry. There were a couple of hats that I hope find their makers! We made a glourious glittery, crafty mess and it was actually a bit funny for me to try and calm all the lovely adults down down who insisted on helping me clean it but I did appreciate a few of the neighbours finding a broom to sweep up as much glitter as possible π€ once everything was packed down again. Trust me I have made way more mess by myself on my own projects π
π€£ππ€£ It's part of creative practice and process/an artist's job. You would be surprised the messes I have been forced to clean up. Anyway the emphasis for me was to make sure everybody had the freedom to express themselves creatively and hopefuly have a good time and something they made to take home and I think that was a success, the pictures don't even do them justice. These were just some of the pieces and bits from throughout the day, I didn't have time to record all the wonderful creations and everything going on but I think these are more than enough. Thanks to everyone on Southdown Road and everyone involved for an amazing day! ππΆβπΏβ€οΈβοΈπππ©π¨ #2026
