Over the last month or so I’ve been working on the largest order of mugs I’ve ever done and I’m actually really proud of myself. Mugs are surprisingly time consuming, well the handle part is. 110 in total!!!

Nothing like seeing them all lined up, I’ve been sanding, quality checking each mug this week, before carefully packing them up ready to leave the studio. I’m going to miss them.

Any other potters get strongly attached to the pots they make? You invest so much time carefully and patiently guiding them step by step from a fresh bag of clay, rolling out the slabs, printing them with my hand calved Lino blocks, forming them, attaching the handles, stamping them, letting them dry, fire 🔥, glaze, fire again 🔥, sand, pack and then sending them on their happy way!

You will make your very own unique mug and plate using traditional slab building techniques. My workshops are great for complete beginners or anyone wanting to get back into working with clay. Fun for friends, couples or just on your own (we’re a friendly bunch)

You will create your own unique plate and mug, using traditional slab building technique while exploring surface patterns and textures. (Foraged, bring your own or we supply) then choose your glaze before I take it back to my studio to be fired.

I quite like a Monday after a busy weekend. I like to take it slow go for a nice long walk with Oki then slowly start to tick of the to do list in the studio.

Today I mixed a new batch of pink glaze, checked on the mugs made during my workshop yesterday, made some candles pots for and packed the kiln for bisque firing.

A lovely start to the week ✨
