Some crazy tunes last night with Julian Gomez and Danny Annaly at the The Earth and Stars - huge thanks to them both and everyone who made it along. Great vibes in no small part thanks to ABYSS Brewing, the ever lovely E&S team and the huge sets we were graced with! One of my faves so far

Some picks for our spicy Saturday coming up at the The Earth and Stars with Danny Annaly and Julian Gomez this weekend!

Finally picked up this killer Ibrahim Hesnawi album on Saturday at the excellent habibi funk - حبيبي فنك all dayer in Hacnkey, very excited for a spin - then there's Rita Lee which Chaleira Voadora Discos has rightly said is dying for a spin out - King Short Shirt will be in my box not for the first time but bringing some Antiguan Soca vibes - shout out to plays.at.45rpm for helping me complete my ALTIN GÜN collection at We Out Here Festival, I will be forever obsessed with these guys and it's great to have a new one to take out - and lastly it's this beautiful 7" spun by at our last record fair, right up my street! Thank you to you all!

🇧🇷 Another Chaleira Voadora Discos Brazilian stock drop here in Brighton! 🇧🇷

Here's a selection of what we've got fresh off the plane...

Pinduca - Carimbó & Sirimbó No Embalo Do... Vol. 3 / VG+
OG 1st press, very hard to find these popular records in such great shape! Few little blemishes here and there, sounds perfect! Carimbó is a very swinging rythm from Northeast Brazil, deriving from blends of Forró from the state of Pará countryside when they got to know more electric music, late 60s.

Matuskela (1973 - only RE 2022) / NM
Songwriting psychedelia, very interesting lyrics! Played about 4 times. Sounds honestly better than the original, very nice limited reissue on white marble vinyl. Insert present. Only release of one of the few bands from Brasília in the 70s

Gal Costa - Gal Canta Caymmi / VG
One of Gal's best post Tropicalia albums from 1976 - 2nd or 3rd Press, late 70s. Some little hairlines, nothing bad, clean VG+ sound. Cover might be on a lower end VG for a sticker residue and general seam wear. Pretty decent!

Cezar De Mercês - Nada No Escuro / VG
Classy and soulful album from ex-member of O Terço. Includes rare insert! Lots of wear to the cover but doesn't look that terrible, honestly. Flimsy original paper has more to do with it. Record sounds quite wonderful and clean!

Tomorrow! We're doing a bumper session at the with our friends at providing libations as always - we've got a crazy line up of DJs from 4pm and the first 30 through the door who flash a record purchased at the Record Fair will get themselves a free pint!

What a line up - we can't wait to see you tomorrow at the Brighthelm Centre in Brighton for our biggest record fair to date, with some incredible dealers, collectors and stores with us from 12pm until 4.

Expect a huge amount of ground covered - dance and rave music, heavy rock and metal, jazz, funk and soul, hip-hop, psych and krautrock, plus a wide spread of vintage 45s and world pressings.

Jazz and funk will run deep throughout -soul, deep funk, fusion, and library and soundtrack work, much of it on rare Japanese and European pressings. Hip-hop will show up across several boxes, from classic US pressings to Japan-only releases.

It's £4 before 2pm to get in, and we'll be donating a pound from ever attendee once again to the fantastic Help Musicians to support their work in the early stages of artists careers - it's free after 2pm to get in, but donations are welcome

Not to mention the DJs sets... looking forward to seeing you there!

's personal stash! We're lucky to have open crates straight from the shelf of DJ Format himself on sale tomorrow at our Record Fair at the The Brighthelm Centre 12-4pm

We'll be digging a spread across genres and decades, from jazz history, krautrock and psych oddities and as we'd expect hip-hop, with a rare early-80s US rap 12", Lil' Jazzy Jay & Cool Supreme's "B Boys Style" on Easy Street

There's Gass' krautrock LP on Polydor Super, The Bag's psych-tinged "Real" on Decca, a colourful Japanese folk compilation, "Charming Hit Album 10" and there's a copy of 'George Russell Presents The Esoteric Circle' on Flying Dutchman from 1971 - an important marker in European jazz history, produced by George Russell himself.

The collab we've been waiting for.. at First Press Record Fair is tomorrow!

Brighton's own DJ Format is taking the stage tomorrow at our Record Fair, where he'll be closing the fair at the The Brighthelm Centre from 3pm. Regularly found digging at the fair, this is the first set from one of the scene's finest and if you're lucky you might snap up some of the cuts as everything will be on sale as well as a stash from the vaults up for grabs - more to come...

This rounds out a line up of DJ TOM YUM, George Bassett and The Virgin Vinyls and we'll be carrying right on at the The Earth and Stars immediately after the set - where you'll be able to nab a free pint if you get there early and show a record bought at the fair!
