I will be at this weekend at the for another spectacular time talking about nature, literature, crafts and arts. As each year, book your place and be at talks by world-famous authors, have inspirational chats with artists and craftspeople, but not just that, as there's SO MUCH FOR THE KIDS, and we all know that, if they're having fun, we will too!

Tree climbing, craft sessions, building and using wood and tools, cooking for kids, well, do check out the website and create your list for the weekend.

Glamp, why not, and stay the night, as the Saturday BBQ is always delicious. And, of course, a yoga session early morning, before we're doing it all again.

I will be selling baskets, workshops and vouchers, but will also this year be running drop-in sessions, should you or the (grand)kids wish to try weaving a dragonfly or birdfeeder from fine basketry willow.

What a super bunch of friends I had the delight in teaching recently as part of yet another private course!

Celebrating another of Hooi-Leng's big birthdays with a course, weaving frame baskets for use in the garden, we not only wove baskets, but had a hilarious time, doing yoga poses and Tai-Chi moves on the kitchen floor. It was very mindful again, here in the Flimwell countryside; a time to forget about "stuff" and create, stepping outside your bubble and doing something new.

I was able to use techniques learnt from .nauleau to create this twist on a Brittany shellfish basket and north-eastern English basket, weaving with skeined willow rods, split in three and shaved to create this fine weaving material. We worked long and hard and kept going only for the wonderful lunch with exquisite flavours that our host made for us, and look at the result!

The next public workshop will be at , Etchingham. Can't wait to join soon, then get in touch via the website for more details.

It's always wonderful to weave outside under the oak tree and the other day at in Etchingham it was still the perfect weather.

We just took our time, everyone a beginner and getting to know willow and what it can withstand, how to hold the rods, bend or kink them to get the desired outcome, everything in balance, being consistent, even tensions throughout the work. All, to weave the husband a bread basket for his sourdough bread, the baby their first lampshade and some super-useful storage baskets. Stunning!

You can still join us next time at King John's on 27th June, or in Lewes on 28th June. Just hop onto my website and choose what you'd fancy weaving.

I've been having fun making a right old mess, splitting and shaving willow and hazel, preparing for a new type of workshop this week. Can you guess what my new cohort of students will be weaving?

The basket they will be weaving during this private workshop has a hazel frame with willow ribs and split willow weavers. It takes some preparation, but then they'll be able to concentrate on the weaving during the day workshop, as well as catching up with friends.

That will be tomorrow and then next Saturday 13th June I will be teaching at the in Tenterden again, when quite a few people will be weaving plant supports and some will create some foraging baskets.🎈

Would you like to learn this type of basket weaving that is quite rare in Britain now, then get in touch through the website or DM and join us in Lewes, Tenterden or Etchingham.

Oooooph, time flies! It's already two weeks ago that I worked with these smashing girls, weaving these - what will be - bread trays.

This workshop was a private session I helped Kate's friends design for her birthday and it was a great success. We all had a lovely afternoon in the conservatory amongst the colourful bunting.

Private workshops have been very popular the last two years. You can decide what you'd like to weave and when. Much easier to fit into the diary and you can be yourselves amongst family or your besties.

Basket weaving is much more than simply making a basket. The process encourages us to work with our head, heart and hands together. It asks us to observe carefully, think practically, solve problems creatively and work rhythmically with natural materials.

Many people find weaving deeply absorbing. Hours can pass unnoticed as hands become familiar with the willow and attention settles on the task at hand. In a world increasingly dominated by screens and constant distraction, basketry offers a rare opportunity to slow down, focus and reconnect.

Working alongside others also creates space for conversation, shared learning and the simple pleasure of spending time with like-minded people. It is a wonderfully grounding experience that nourishes both mind and spirit.

Half-day or day basketry workshops can be for 6 of you, but if you'd like to do regular sessions and weave a basket in stages spread over 3 two-hour sessions or two three-hour ones, then groups of 10 people is possible. You'll be weaving with willow, hedgerow or rattan.

Just have a look on my website and get inspired or book, and we'll discuss the details of how you'd like your session(s) to be tailored.
