We are photographing some sweet little Afghan Kilims today 🌸 they have colours of the rainbow and wonderful unique designs and we love how they easily fit in so many spaces like bathrooms, by the bed, landings or even in the wall🌻being reversible is an fabulous added bonus !

Our shop is full of beautiful handmade rugs in all shapes and sizes, and while many people fall in love with many of them, it really helps to know what size range works for your space. How to Measure Your Space
📏📏📏📏📏📏📏
Handmade rugs don’t always come in standard sizes, and it’s common to find something you love that’s not the exact dimensions you had in mind. That’s why we recommend noting both your minimum and maximum measurements for length and width.

For example:

Minimum width: 4ft | Maximum width: 5ft
Minimum length: 6ft | Maximum length: 8ft

This means if you can’t find your exact size you might consider a rug measuring 4.6 x 7ft for example.

Apply This To Any Room

The same method works whether you’re shopping for a living room rug, bedroom rug, hallway, kitchen, or any other space. Just work out the range of sizes that could work in the room you’re furnishing. Bringing those measurements with you and even some photos of the space will make it easier for us to help you find your perfect rug.

Final Tips

Use painter’s tape, a newspaper or a sheet to block out the rug area on your floor 🌸🌸
Bring a swatch, cushion cover or paint colour to match colour tones 🌸🌸
Take photos of your space from a couple of angles 🌸🌸
Note down the furniture layout, especially in smaller rooms 🌸🌸
Be open to slightly different sizes – handmade rugs are rarely uniform! 🌸🌸

Made by Moshwani weavers - a nomadic sub-tribe who travelled through the remote regions of West Afghanistan - this rug has a story behind it. The dusty pinks and warm earthy tones give it a rustic, lived-in feel that works beautifully in the right space. What makes it stand out is the mix of techniques: soumak kilim weft-wrapping on the background, hand-knotted wool pile in the geometric sections - two distinct textures in one piece. Great value, totally unique, and there's only one.
