ā¤ļøGood morning! Itās a more melancholy Manga Monday today, but thatās not always a bad thing, and itās also tinged with hope and joy. Kinda like life, huh?
šÆšµšŗš²Todayās recommendation is On Their Frontlines, by Marina Lisa Komiya, and it tells the story of Yori and Haru, two girls who loved each other and were separated by the bombings and war in Tokyo. The first book tells the story of their lives surviving post-war Showa era Japan, while not knowing where the other is. Over time they meet American soldiers and begin to get closer to them, for different reasons, but similarly heartwarming. These men quickly grow from intrusions to characters in their own right though, with heartbreaking histories of loss and love.
