The Painting Pottery Cafe Brighton

Pottery painting and making studio based in the centre of Brighton since 1999. All are welcome! Come in and paint a special gift for yourself or someone else.

We've been located at 31 North Road in the heart of the North Laine area since 1999. Over our two floors we have space for 40 people and regularly host groups both large and small. We welcome all, from Children's Birthdays and School Groups to Hen Parties and Team Building events, plus everything in-between! Choose from over 100 items from £15 - £40, with most pieces priced between £20-£25. There

is a £5 studio fee per painter which we add to the price of your chosen pottery. One of our potters will demonstrate painting techniques and then you're free to let those creative juices flow! We'll then glaze and fire all items for you ready to collect a few days later. If you're interested in making with clay, we also run monthly evening classes and Taster Throwing sessions every weekend! See our website for more info.

CLOSED SATURDAY - so the whole team can go enjoy Brighton Pride! 🏳️‍🌈❤️ back on Sunday for all your chill pottery painting needs. What a wonderful city Brighton and Hove is, a safe haven for so many folk, especially in increasingly scary times. so blessed to have a team of qu**rs and allies working together, being besties, firing only the gayest of pottery almost every day of the year for over 27 years!

we’ve got our team summer social (we’re going camping) next week so will be closed at 3pm on Tuesday and all day Wednesday. Normal hours outside of this though!

🧒kids wheel throwing classes allow your creative 8-12 year old to experience the potters wheel and make a pot they can keep for a lifetime! small class size of just 5, and only £20pp!
🍾evening pottery painting sessions; a couple times a month come along for up to 3 hours of chill BYOB pottery painting!
🏺 evening classes; we’re running fewer evening classes this year due to a drop in attendees, which means you should nab a space whilst it’s still available! make, build, and throw a little painting set in our September class!

This Thursday we still have some spaces in our adults only evening class, where you can learn to make from clay your own mug and bowl. You’ll use the potters wheel and handbuilding techniques to create your masterpieces!

💷£50pp includes all materials and clear glazing your pottery - pay an extra £5-10 to return to paint your pieces!
