After over 2 years since our last market, we're pleased to announce we have a date (and a wonderful venue!) for our next market.

Applications will be open in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for information on when and how to apply if you're interested in being a stallholder.

We're really excited to open the doors to Bristol Goth and Alternative Market once more, and hopefully we'll see you in November!

As many of you may know Sylvia Lancaster, mother of Sophie Lancaster who was murdered for being different, died today. She was a key part of the Sophie Lancaster organization. We will continue to support this essential foundation. Our love, thoughts and support go to Sylvia's family. With all our love, Opal and the Spooky market team. As always all entry fees from our markets will go to the foundation.

This is the hardest statement to write. It is with great shock and disbelief that we announce that Sylvia Lancaster has passed away. She died early this morning in Blackburn hospital. She had suffered from ill health for the last couple of years, but her death was sudden and unexpected. Sylvia had such a powerful life force; we cannot imagine a world without her in it.

Following Sophie’s brutal murder, Sylvia put her energy into championing people from alternative subcultures and creating educational programmes to tackle prejudice and intolerance. She worked tirelessly to combat the inaccurate and lazy stereotyping that all too often leads to violent prejudice and promoted a culture of celebrating difference; something that leads to safer communities for us all.

Sylvia was formidable. She challenged authority and fought for what she believed in. Her legacy is that Sophie will never be forgotten, and her daughter’s name will always represent her mission – to Stamp Out Prejudice, Hatred and Intolerance Everywhere.
She will be sadly missed.

There will be much to say over the course of the next few months. Initially all our thoughts are focused on supporting Adam and his family in the coming days and weeks. Hold those you love a little bit closer today.

Hello everyone just to let you know that I run the market on my own and I have unfortunately been taken into hospital after a very bad accident I’m recovering slowly after a few surgeries. The market will still go ahead but at this point there will not be many updates so I can traders please make sure they’re advertising their stalls and make sure they tag us in their posts.

The response for pitches has been extraordinary - I am working through the applications steadily but I do all of this as one person so please be patient - I hope to let you all know as soon as possible!
