How could I not share this proof of absolute dedication from the mighty Ed

Being a birth partner is of course not all about the doing, it's about the preparing, the holding, the listening, the witnessing and SO much more. But the UMBRELLA acronym can help people feel prepared, to feel like they have a few tools in the box, and finding this stuck to the kitchen wall, while boiling the kettle for a pool refill, made my heart burst ❤️

An amazing family - a strong, determined and powerful mum and a very prepared, kind-souled and attentive dad

This is exactly it, summed up so perfectly by my dream girl Meg Brackpool in reflection of her incredible home birth in July. The first baby, riddled with all the unknowns but with the confidence and belief to do it 💪🏼🙌🏼🦸🏼‍♀️

When you're right in it, the thickest, hardest part, my role is to gently remind you to keep going, that everything is ok, that you're safe. Those are words that allow bodies to unfold and open up ❤️

What a day ✨

When women attack women, it hits a bit differently...

I remember a long time ago, before I had kids, someone telling me that they were turned on by women breastfeeding 🙄
A wide eyed and anxious woman, hopefully oblivious to being objectified

And I reckon most breastfeeding people have felt, at one time or another, a bit uncomfortable in front of the male gaze. It's unfair and ridiculous but understandable. I'm one of life's big BIG breastfeeding advocates but definitely felt it, as a mid 20s mum, in front of colleagues and in laws and even friends.

But then a woman comes after breastfeeding, saying it makes her uncomfortable. Her! I'm not sure who she is and why she has a platform. I don't know if she has breastfed or has children or has sisters or friends or in fact anything about her at all, but it makes me so mad that now, because of her ignorant voice, there is the potential that someone who once felt safe and comfortable breastfeeding in front of, at the bare minimum, a group of women, now might not. Shame on her
