A charming English Victorian mahogany chest of drawers dating from the mid-19th century, offered in good antique condition and of particularly useful compact proportions. At 62cm wide × 45cm deep × 68cm high, it’s an ideal bedside chest, lamp table or hall chest.

Take a look at this wonderful Victorian oil by British painter Edward Priestley (1820-1880). At first glance, it feels like a classic idyllic 19th century equestrian scene - three powerful horses galloping across an open pasture.
But look a little closer on the left.
Just beyond the tree line, an early steam locomotive and carriage chug across the landscape.
Priestley has beautifully captured a massive turning point in British history: the moment traditional rural life met the unstoppable momentum of the Industrial Revolution.
While Priestley’s works are held in prestigious collections like the National Trust, it’s this incredibly rare inclusion of early railway iconography that makes this piece a true standout 🎨 ✨

We knew this Regency gentleman had presence, but a careful surface clean has totally transformed him.

A superb Victorian stable portrait by one of Britain’s finest sporting artists, Thomas
Walker Bretland (1802–1874). Painted to celebrate her victory at Newmarket, this bay
mare stands proudly in her loose box, every detail of her gleaming coat, alert expression
and muscular form captured with Bretland’s characteristic skill.
