Adam’s Archive is on tonight at 7:00 – 9:00 PM US Central Daylight Time (00:00 – 02:00 GMT) on KNNZ Ken's FM 89.1 in the region and streaming worldwide via free radio tuner apps like Radio Garden, the chat room at kensfm.com, and free on Shoutcast at http://108.59.11.81:8315/
If you can't catch the show tonight, it will be rebroadcast on Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM Central (5:00 to 7:00 PM GMT, more convenient for some of our friends overseas).
Tonight we'll have an updated edition of a standout show from earlier in the summer. The original post:
Alan Sparhawk of Low released a striking new single this week, and we'll hear that along with more new music including Chrystabell & David Lynch (and we'll hear about how Alan's video may somehow out-Lynch Lynch's new video), Lux Mala, and HEALTH w/ Lauren Mayberry of CHVRCHES. R.E.M. recently performed a surprise acoustic reunion when inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and we'll hear several acoustic R.E.M. songs, plus more from them, and a cover from Eddie Vedder.
Tomorrow is our late friend Steve Albini's birthday, and Touch and Go Records, his wife Heather, and his Shellac bandmates have organized the celebration that I have wanted to make some kind of contribution to. Venus In Furs recorded with Steve several times at his Electrical Audio studio, and we will be reissuing our Back Page News/Porcelain Doll single digitally for the first time tomorrow (on Bandcamp) with the proceeds going to the Letters To Santa charity, which Steve did tremendous work with. I'll play one of the songs tonight, along with music by Shellac, and talk a bit more about Steve, the charity, and the reissue.
There is plenty more coming up as well, including music by request from Nouveau Arcade & The Anix w/ Cordelia, plus Phil Fallway, NightNight, IAMX, Ursine Vulpine & Annaca, The Quinsy, I MONSTER, MorissonPoe, Mick Harvey & Amanda Acevedo, Blackcarburning w/ Mari Kattman, and more!
