Anyone interested in cymbal-making beyond my Make Your Own Cymbal sessions, I host a community via Patreon with regular tutorials and meetings. New membership levels available very soon for learning either casually or as a deep-dive.

Following a bit of a sanity-retreat from much of social media and the dreaded-but-necessary "content", I'm stepping back into Patreon https://www.patreon.com/collingwoodcymbals with some renewed energy and will be running the August Group Cymbalsmith Meeting via Google Meet this coming Wednesday, August 5th. Open to all subscribed Patreon members, whether actively making cymbals, just interested, or anything inbetween.

New tiers and training levels will be added very soon, signing up now gives access to the 500+ posts to date including video tutorials, interviews, concepts, insights and so on.

And another Make Your Own Cymbal 16" Crash leaves the workshop with its maker, Emma.

Many of the cymbals made in these sessions include unlathed portions so some of the hand-hammering in the raw bronze is still visible, a good reminder of what went into it!

Of course, how it sounds is the primary concern, and I can guide you to a finished product which sounds the way you want and has the looks to match.

Another great Make Your Own Cymbal session with Tom of Made You Look / Made You Stare - this 16" crash came together beautifully, the finishing touches being the signature and graphic added by laser. Truly a one-of-a-kind cymbal.
