WE'VE MADE A RECORD!
To commemorate our time in Rise Bristol before the doors close one final time, we've decided to try our hand at releasing a record. One of the greatest privileges we have at Rise is getting to meet and work alongside the Bristol music scene so we wanted to champion it some more and put together our own 12" featuring some of our favourite tracks which have never been on vinyl before. All four of the artists on this record have stocked their releases with us, shopped with us, and most importantly made music that we have fallen in love with.
If you have any connection to Bristol then these names may be familiar to you, and even those without may have heard them on 6music and radio 1 or read about them in the music press. All four acts have broken out of the city in their own way and we are honoured to have the chance to put them all together on one slab of wax, a tiny slice of the ever expanding and impressive Bristol music scene.
On one side of the record we have Tara Clerkin Band and Wenonoah, both heavily involved in the DIY collectives that exist and operate within the city. On the other side we have two of this year's breakthrough acts, both making big waves in the current musical landscape, LICE & IDLES.
We'll be posting a lot more about the record soon, we have a few final details to tie up, (artwork and a name!) but the record is now available to pre-order with a release date of Friday September 8th. It is limited to 250 copies with a download.
