After what has been a really difficult few days for us, we’re so pleased to be back open and ready for the weekend!

We’ll be open as normal all weekend, and we’d absolutely love to see you.

We’ve been completely overwhelmed by all the lovely messages, support and kind words we’ve received since the break-in. It has really reminded us what an incredible community we have around us. ❤️

If you’re heading out this weekend, please pop in and support your local independent shops. Every purchase, however big or small, genuinely makes a difference and helps us get back on our feet.

❤️ WE ARE BACK OPEN ❤️

We’re so pleased to say that Born in Bristol is now back open after this morning’s awful start to the day.

A huge thank you to every single person who has messaged, checked in, shared our posts and sent us such kind words today. It has honestly meant so much to us and really shown us what an amazing community we have around us. ❤️

Unfortunately, we have lost quite a bit as a result of the break-in, and there is going to be a lot to sort out over the coming days.

So if you’re able to, please pop in and support us over the next few days. Every purchase, no matter how small, really will make a difference and help us recover some of what we’ve lost.

🚨 Unfortunately, we are closed this morning due to a break-in last night. 🚨

We’re absolutely gutted to have arrived this morning to find our shop like this. The door has been badly damaged and unfortunately, quite a bit has been taken.

We are currently waiting for the police to attend and investigate, so we’re unable to open the shop at the moment.

We’ll update you as soon as we know more and as soon as we’re able to reopen.

🚨 SHOPLIFTING AT BORN IN BRISTOL — PLEASE WATCH 🚨

I honestly hate having to make a post like this, but enough is enough.

We have clear CCTV footage of someone stealing from our shop. Items were taken without being paid for, and the footage has now been reported to the police.

We are a small independent business, not a big corporation with endless resources to absorb losses. Every item in our shop matters. We work with over 50 local artists and small businesses, and when something is stolen, it’s not just “a shop losing a few pounds” — it impacts real people who work incredibly hard to create the products we sell.

I spend so much time and effort building Born in Bristol, supporting local makers and creating a lovely shop for our community. It is genuinely heartbreaking and incredibly frustrating to have someone come in and simply take things.

📹 The CCTV footage is being shared in the hope that someone may recognise this person.

If you know who this is or have any information that could help, please contact us privately or report it to the police. Please do not post personal information or accusations in the comments.

We work hard to make Born in Bristol a welcoming place for everyone, but sadly incidents like this make it harder for small businesses to keep going.

Please think twice before stealing from an independent business. Behind every little shop is a person, a family and a whole community of makers trying to make a living.

What a weekend! ❤️

What an absolutely brilliant weekend trading at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta!

We’ve had the BEST time meeting so many lovely people, chatting all things Bristol and seeing our little Born in Bristol stall absolutely buzzing! 🥰

A huge thank you to everyone who came to say hello, supported our small business and took a little piece of Bristol home with them. It honestly means the world to us! ❤️
