We are passionate about bikes and cycling. Holy Spokes is an independent bicycle shop and bike workshop. We specialise in bicycle servicing, bike repairs, bike maintenance and wheel building. From old commuter bikes and boneshakers to high end road bikes, mountain bike suspension, internally geared hubs and ebikes - our workshop is well equipped for almost every bike. with your bike, just get in touch and we can arrange to collect and deliver your bike free of charge.

This is John’s Raleigh Captus.

It’s a proper getting-around bike. Mid-step frame so you’re not swinging a leg over anything, upright position, rack mounts, Bosch Active Line motor with a 400Wh battery on the downtube to keep the weight low and central.

Shimano hydraulic discs, which you want on an e-bike in Bristol rain!

This was Dexter’s Bob Jackson Vigorelli - it’s just sold! He bought it to build a drop bar fixed gear audax bike, ideal for longer rides.

Cool bits on it are Nitto stem and seat post, Chris King headset, and handbuilt wheels.

It’s off to its new home in London but can’t miss out on sharing some pics with you guys first. 🍊

Buying a second hand bike is the cheapest way to get on the road, but i’s also the easiest way to inherit someone else’s problem.

Here’s what to check before you buy:

Check for rust,
Make sure the frame isn’t broken or damages
Test ride it to see if it feels right, the gears all work, and the brakes are functioning
