• The Lo Yo Yo’s brilliant 1985 post-punk new-wave album from members of Family Fodder, ‘Extra Weapons,’ and their 1984 cassette, ‘Double Dog Dare’ are released together on CD by Klanggalerie (out 15/APR)
• ‘Surrender’ is an exciting new collection of New York’s proto-punk/post-punk electro-minimalist pioneers Su***de on Mute Records that features some of the best of Alan Vega and Marty Rev’s influential music from 1977-2002 including two unreleased songs (2LP/CD out 24/MAR)
• SOUL GLO’s new album ‘Diaspora Problems’ on Secret Voice/Epitaph Records is super-fast super-relevant post-hardcore noisenik-punk brilliance from Philadelphia (CD out 25/MAR & LP out 16/DEC)
• San Francisco’s Sad Eyed Beatniks’ new album, and first on vinyl thanks to Madrid’s Meritorio Records (on cassette in US on Paisley Shirt Records), is lo-fi jangle-pop from K Linn and the scene that’s given us April Magazine, Flowertown, Cindy, etc (LP out 18/MAR)
• Hydroplane’s experimental lo-fi bittersweet dream-core noise-pop 1997 album is released on vinyl for the very first time, with updated artwork, thanks to EFFICIENT SPACE. The Melbourne band’s amazing self-titled masterpiece has been out-of-press and impossible to find for decades, so don’t miss out! (LP out 6/MAY)
• The new album from New York’s Homeboy Sandman, ‘There In Spirit,’ is a collaboration with brilliant Detroit beatmaker ILLingsworth on Mello Music Group (CD out 25/MAR & LP out 5/AUG)
• Malaria!’s essential collection of their early-80s Berlin post-punk releases gets a repress by Moabit Musik (out 25/MAR)
• 50FOOTWAVE’s ‘Black Pearl’ is the new album by the Los Angeles noise-rock trio, made up of Throwing Muses’ Kristin Hersh and Bernard Georges with drummer Rob Ahlers, on Fire Records (LP/CD out 15/APR)
• Papercuts’ new album ‘Past Life Regression’ is Cali-psych-pop-jangle from San Francisco’s Jason Quever and friends on LABELMAN (Slumberland Records in US) (LP out 1/APR)
