A look back over the last 20 years of Ablectrics.
From a small electrical wholesalers on Gloucester Road. It was a lot of hard work and effort to diversify the business and start building and selling lighting. This led to a huge fit out in 2015 which saw the whole showroom redesigned and transformed.

Ultimately in 2022 we outgrew the space and moved the whole business half a mile down the road to Zetland Road. We took on a large premises and doubled our showroom and warehouse. There was even space to build a luxury home cinema demo room. At the front a spacious car park and we now host networking events and trade/training mornings here almost every month.

Things are not easy currently but we push on. We have some big plans for the showroom in Sept and are excited to show you what we are planning. Details of our next sale event will also be announced soon.

So if you need lighting or electrics, think local and support an independent business. Use us or loose us. The high street needs your support. We have been trading for over 50 years now and I’d love to one day hand the business over to my daughter Adele. Making it a 3rd generation business.

Had to share this. Just one days views from the west coast of Norway! Never taken so many photos. The weather is average but it’s still one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever visited. The mountains and lakes are unreal.
This is just a quick look at some of the scenery and views from our drive across this epic land of the vikings. If you are thinking to visit Norway or any of the Scandinavian countries, DO IT!
The people are amazing. The nature is stunning and the fresh air is lovely. Big fan of this place.

A full walkthrough of the recent HMO I completed. Showing the new kitchen, the garden and the bedrooms. This house was completed in just over 6 weeks and I stuck to the budget. 6 weeks in 60 seconds. Turning a 3 bed house into a high end 6 bed HMO. All 6 beds have en-suites. House has been rewired and now has a grade A fire alarm panel and emergency lighting. All HMO compliant.
The garden has been redone to minimalize the maintenance. It has a new kitchen and has been fully plastered and decorated. It’s like new!

This project was great. Lots of fun, with the added challenge of a World Cup and two heatwaves! But we push on.

I’ll be looking for another project like this to start in October. If anyone is building an HMO and would like any help with the lighting and electrical design and supply please contact me. I supply all this kit through my electrical wholesalers, Ablectrics. We won’t be beaten on price and our reviews speak for themselves.

End of 6 weeks on site. Converting a 3 bed house into a 6bed HMO all en-suites. A huge amount of work to be done and a very small amount of time. I had hoped to be finished today but we are still going. 3/4 more days are needed.
Good news is we are on budget, to the penny. So I’ll take that over being a few days late. With the hot weather and englands late night games we have smashed it.

We asked some of our trade customers to tell us why they use us and to leave us a short review. We thought hearing it is better than reading it and it’s so much more personal. Some of our customers have used us 20 years. One guy was on holiday in Barbados but still wanted to get involved so he Whatsapped me.

We have a great friendship with them all, we’ve seen their business grow. Their families come for drinks at Christmas and we have even met the kids.

When it comes to choosing an electrical wholesalers there is more than pricing to consider. These lads come in on a daily basis, we see them all the time. Often they come in for a chat and a coffee and to talk football. Or to just have a rant about a job or the weather.

The trade counter is very special and we love the atmosphere. Always upbeat and never a dull day. Choosing to work with a local independent electrical wholesalers is a great decision. If you’re a bristol based electrician and would consider moving wholesalers then we would love to hear from you. So call in and get some account forms and we will get you some pricing. You may also be impressed with our pricing we often beat the big boys on large orders.

Week 5 site update. Things still moving very fast on site. Kitchen now fitted and flooring/electrics are looking great. Plastering 95% finished and the house is being miss coated now. Overall given the heat wave and football we are doing well. Shout out the and for supplying me a great shaker kitchen at a decent price. Also to who have been the lender on this project. Having such an easy and reliable money stream to keep everything moving at such a quick pace has been amazing. I would strongly recommend them.

Let’s see if I can get this over the line in another week!!
