Don't these make your heart beat a little faster? They definitely do mine :) These beautiful materials and quilts are from India and hunted down and brought back to us here by Tanya who runs the Running Stitch company. And we have had the wonderful news that she has signed up for a stand at the show next August. I know I will be buying loads .. going to start putting £5 in a pot each week - I reckon I should have a reasonable budget for all the goodies by next August then 😁. Let me be honest - I've already asked Tanya for a nice bundle of these as I want to make some art works with cloth form different countries. I'll keep you posted about that on my own page. Please just get the dates on your diary for next year - its going to be a stunning show. More news on new galleries tomorrow xx

You will all know Stef Francis Most of us have bought some of here amazing hand dyed threads and fabrics over the years - I certainly have. And I’ve always admired her beautiful work samples hanging on her stand. But I have never seen a gallery of her work - and that’s because Stef is a very modest woman and has only shown her work as part of her trading stand. What a waste and one we are correcting at next Augusts show. We have asked Stef to show a gallery of her beautiful embroideries - and are totally delighted that she has agreed. This will be a beautiful space showcasing Stef’s stunning art works form over the years - and some new ones too.
We are also planning some new embroidery competition categories - and have asked Stef to be one of our embroidery judges. More about those soon. Hope you are all getting those dates set aside in your diaries!! :)

So - while I’ve been beavering away finding some wonderful galleries for next year’s show (more to come :)), the boss (aka Martin Corbett) has been equally busy getting some really exciting traders for you - both new and old. Jo Hill is one of the new ones - and she makes simply amazing wall hanging and home furnishings. Have a look at her page for more of what she does - and then get your tickets for next year’s show (£2 off if you book early) and come and see her in the flesh (and fabric). Jo will also be teaching workshops - I think Martin is sorting that out at the moment - more details soon xx

We are delighted that textile artist Sylvia Paul has agreed to come and show a gallery of her beautiful work with us in August 2020. Sylvia is art trained and has had a long and very successful, career as a painter, exhibiting widely across the UK and overseas. Textiles are a newer passion and the way she is combining her artist’s skills and eye, with this new 'palette' is resulting in some highly original and very exciting work. Sylvia exhibits biennially with Art Textiles: Made in Britain and her work has been enthusiastically received by viewers. This is her first solo textile art gallery - and we feel privileged to be hosting it. Sylvia is planning a book to accompany the gallery - so it’s another definite 'must visit' for next year. These are some of Sylvia’s stitched textile collages - lots more to come :)

OOOOOH - how exciting. We have another stunning gallery booked up for the 2020 show in Bristol (20,21,22 August 2020) Another international art quilter who needs no introduction - Bethan Ash was one of the original members of the internationally renowned Quilt Art group and has been making and showing her art quilts for many years. Her work has been shown in many solo and group exhibitions - both at home and abroad and it has been acquired by public establishments in the UK and US, including that of the Museum of Art and Design (MAD), New York. Her work can also be found in private collections in Europe, the US and Japan.
From Wales, she has more recently opened a gallery in Neath, South Wales, which shows textile arts alongside more traditional art forms. Her use of colour and imagery are second to none and highly distinctive. Her gallery space will be a visual feast – so make sure you come along and see it. Here are a few of Bethans pieces - more to come 🙂

Hello and Happy Monday from all of us here :). More news about our galleries for 2020 - we are absolutely delighted to be welcoming Leah Higgins to the show. Leaping to the fore in the last couple of years - Leah is bowling over the textile world with her beautiful art works and amazing printing. we will be sharing lots of images of her work to tempt you - although nothing of course looks as good as it does in the flesh. Leah has also written and published (clever girl) her own book - which is fabulous. She will have that at the 2020 show as well - and will be sharing some of her techniques in her gallery as well as selling some her of own made beautiful materials. Sooooo exciting - make sure you put those dates in your diary: 20,21 and 22 August 2020
