This is where we finished up after a weekend painting. His legs are wrapped because the paint started chipping off the resin, despite careful priming! 😩
And his leg fell off!!
I forget that resin isn't as durable as plastic!! 😳
Anyway, quite happy with where he's at. Lots more to do and lots of finessing too!

Fun fact: it took me almost the entire Labyrinth Soundtrack Album to paint the portrait!! (Head is not stuck in yet!)

A huge thank you to the folks at Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy - Painters Showcase for making sure my missing finalist pin found its way home to me after UK Games Expo! ❤️

It may seem like a little thing, but as someone who's only been painting miniatures for less than two years, I was absolutely over the moon to discover one of my entries had been awarded a Finalist pin.

Now it's finally arrived and has pride of place on the shelf next to my She-Ra model. 🏆

This is the first recognition I've ever received for painting a miniature, and I'm ridiculously proud of it.

Here's hoping it's the first of many... though let's not get carried away, I've still got plenty to learn! 😆

Thank you again to everyone at Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy for taking the time to sort it out. It was very much appreciated.

Spent the day getting my hand back into painting, took inspiration from Heresy For Heretics style. Just a regular marine.

Had to work out which colours would work since I don't have the Army Painter paints. Ended up using Warlord Purple and Ice Yellow and Kantor Blue and Caledor Sky with a bit of Baharroth Blue and Sotek Green on the aquilla.
(As well as flash gitz and troll slayer on blaster and eyes)

Also painted entirely with a size 4 Artis Opus series S brush... Freshly purchased at 😁

BEST part of was entering this model into Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy - Painters Showcase Sir Coates Painting Masters Competition and seeing it achieve a FINALIST PIN!!! 😁

WORST part of UKGE was experiencing the ridiculous mularky that was collecting our models after the completion had closed and being told they had LOST my pin!! 😩😢☹️

my pixel automatically applied HDR and increased saturation on the photos - I don't mind, it looks good!! 🤣
finding it difficult to get a good photo of this one!

Today was a good painting day, feel like I've achieved lots and really happy with the results so far!!
Looks chalky on camera but less so in hand. Excited to keep going with this one! 😁
