🫣 It was one little lie.. what's the worst that could happen?

Join us for an evening in conversation with author Charlotte Leonard as we celebrate her latest novel One Little Lie 📚

Our discussion will dive into the novel's themes of midlife, identity and "good women behaving badly". The novel centres on Sarah, a woman in midlife who, feeling increasingly invisible within her own family, tells a lie about a cancer diagnosis - only to find the consequences spiral far beyond what she imagined.

It's a darkly comic, emotionally layered story about visibility in mid life, women's roles in society, family dynamics, and the complicated ways we ask to be loved.

Expect an entertaining and thought-provoking conversation with the chance to ask your own questions.

Looking for something to entertain your little ones in the summer holidays?
We've got something for you! 🙌

Meet Maudie Smith author of a funny, lively (and rather useful!) new picture book, Bear Cubs Don't Do Queues!

Help Maudie bring her latest story to life, and see how one particular bear cub teels about queues. Grizzle and growi just like Bear Cub, then take part in an experiment to find out if queueing might actually be fun!

Maudie's interactive session will include lively storytelling, followed by some Bear Cub activities, including Bear Cub Bingo and the Great Big Bear Cub Boogie. Time is guaranteed to fly by faster than a pigeon - you'll be at the end of the session before you can say...BEAR CUBS DON'T DO QUEUES!
Suitable for age 3+ (Reception, Year One, and Year Two, possibly also Year Three).

🎫 Each child's ticket includes one adult. You can also add extra children on at the checkout.

What you’ll be doing:

- Delivering excellent customer service and building relationships with customers
- Recommending books and products to drive sales
- Processing transactions and keeping the shop well presented
- Restocking shelves and carrying out light cleaning and general shop duties
- Making hot/cold drinks and serving our delicious cakes
- Occasionally supporting and helping run children’s events and evening author or community events

What we’re looking for:

- Experience in sales, customer service, or as a barista (experience in at least one is essential)
- A confident, friendly communicator who loves interacting with people
- Someone who is proactive, reliable, and enjoys working in a retail environment
- Availability to work approximately 1.5 days per week, including some evenings for events
