π The hive is a little quieter now.
The marquee is empty, the flowers have been packed away and the bees have (finally!) had a well-earned rest.
But what an incredible Frenchay Flower Show it was.
We've been overwhelmed by the kind comments, messages and feedback you've shared. It means so much to everyone who works so hard to make this event happen.
There are far too many people to thank individually, but here's our attempt...
π Our amazing committee β the worker bees who spend months planning behind the scenes.
π The volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout one of the hottest weekends of the year.
Sadly, there is one person we simply can't thank this year.
We lost our wonderful Queen Bee, Brenda.
Brenda worked tirelessly for the Flower Show and believed that everyone should feel welcome and included. Her warmth, kindness and enthusiasm inspired so many people to join the committee, volunteer their time and become part of this incredible community.
She leaves a space that can never truly be filled, but her spirit will continue to live on in the Show she loved so much.
Our love and heartfelt thoughts are with Frenchy and all of Brenda's family. She will be missed more than words can say. ππ
π The couple of thousand visitors who came along and made the Show so special.
π Everyone who entered exhibits, our fantastic stallholders and concessions, our wonderful entertainers (especially the Ukrainian Dancers π₯°), the children who took part in the Bee Trail, and all the Classic Car exhibitors.
π Our 4 and 2 legged friends who took part in the Fun Dog Show.
π Winterbourne Parish Council, our nominated charities Great Western Air Ambulance and FRE&CH, and of course our partners and sponsors. Your support allows this wonderful community event to flourish year after year.
One thing we promise is that we never stand still.
We've already started reviewing your feedback and planning for next year. In fact, we're already talking with our Platinum Sponsor, Bristol Water, about introducing a hydration and wellbeing area to help everyone stay cooler if the sun decides to make another appearance!
The Flower Show is much more than one day in July. Over the coming months we'll be looking for more opportunities to engage with and support our wider community, before returning with another fantastic show... and an exciting new theme for 2027.
And yes... this may bee the last of the bee puns. ππ
..Or maybee not.π
