Could you donate your time to help make a difference for rescued horses and ponies? 🧡

Volunteering with The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is a rewarding way to support horse welfare, learn new skills and meet new people.

We have a variety of roles available, including:
🛍️ Retail Volunteers: supporting our charity shops across Devon in Bovey Tracey, Newton
Abbot, Babbacombe and Brixham
🐴 Sanctuary Care Volunteers: working alongside our grooms caring for rescued horses and ponies (no riding involved, full training provided)
🌿 Estates Volunteers: assisting our estate rangers with upkeep across our horse care sites
🎪Events Volunteers: supporting us at open days and external events throughout the year
🤝Corporate Volunteering: solo or group days across a variety of roles, perfect for team building while giving back

Every hour volunteered helps us continue providing lifelong care for rescued horses and
ponies. Find out more on our website here: https://bit.ly/4uP0Kdm

This week is all about you! Your stories, your moments, your impact. We'll have some special content lined up throughout the week, but we want to hear from you too! Tag us in your volunteer stories and posts, we'd love to share them 💚

Volunteers’ Week is here — and we’re celebrating our 66 fantastic team members who share their time and skills across horse care, retail and support roles. Your passion keeps our rescue work going.

‘Volunteers are the heartbeat…and the hoofbeat… of The Mare and Foal Sanctuary,’ says Volunteer Coordinator Kerri Luke. ‘They give up their most precious gift – their time – to support our rescued horses and ponies. Their dedication makes everything we do possible.’

Running since 1984, Volunteers’ Week is the perfect moment to thank our amazing team and recognise the value of volunteer time, passion and skills.

We're currently seeking a volunteer driver to transport donated goods between our shops in Babbacombe, Bovey Tracey, Brixham and Newton Abbot and our Sanctuary sites in Totnes and Newton Abbot. Find out more here: https://bit.ly/4uBf6Oz

We are seeking volunteer drivers to keep our charity shops in Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey, Brixham and Babbacombe stocked and raising vital funds for the 550+ horses and ponies in our care.

It is a practical, interesting and fun role, working with a wonderful, warm and friendly team.
