Can you help drive support for rescued horses and ponies in Devon?

We are seeking volunteer drivers to keep our charity shops in Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey, Brixham and Babbacombe stocked and raising vital funds for the 550+ horses and ponies in our care.

It is a practical, interesting and fun role, working with a wonderful, warm and friendly team.

Donation Schedule Update at Brixham Shop 📦

🕒 Donation Times: Tuesday to Saturday: 10am - 3pm

🚗 Early morning drop-offs (before 10am) are available by prior telephone arrangement with Simone or Pat.

We cannot accept:
❌ Electrical items
❌ Stuffed toys without safety labels
❌ Duvets/pillows (unless brand new in packaging)
❌ Baby equipment (including car/booster seats)
❌ Large pet items (unless new – e.g. beds, scratching posts)
❌ Sports equipment
❌ Lampshades without safety tags
❌ Bike leathers or helmets
❌ VHS tapes or cassettes

Spending time around horses can have a significant impact on mental wellbeing. At The Mare and Foal Sanctuary, we see every day how being outdoors, slowing down, and connecting with animals can help bring a sense of calm and comfort.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we want to encourage everyone to take care of themselves in whatever way feels right for them. Whether that’s going outside, taking a break, talking to someone, or spending time doing something that helps you feel grounded.

Thank you for continuing to support the work we do for the rescued ponies and horses. With your help, we provide safe, caring forever homes where horses can recover and thrive. 🧡
