Our western coastline in Broad Haven will be an amazing spot to view the Solar Eclipse next Wednesday 12th August.
We will experience around 94% solar eclipse coverage, 2nd only to Cornwall in the UK.

𝓦𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓷𝓮𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀…
🌒 The eclipse starts around 6:15pm, with maximum eclipse occurring between 7:05pm and 7:16pm.
🌒 Choose a safe viewing spot with a clear west or west-north-west horizon.
🌒 Watch safely using ISO 12312-2:2015 (E) certified eclipse glasses (available to buy in The Beach Shop) or an indirect method such as a pinhole projector.
✖️Never look at the sun through binoculars, telescopes or cameras without a correctly fitted solar filter.

🔥⚠️ The wildfire risk across our National Park is now VERY HIGH.

Conditions are exceptionally dry throughout the National Park. Just one spark can start a fire that spreads rapidly, threatening people, wildlife, habitats and some of our most precious landscapes.

If you are spending time outdoors:
🚫 Do not light any fires, including campfires
🚫 Do not use disposable or portable barbecues. Pack a picnic instead
🚫 Do not set off fireworks or release sky lanterns
🚭 Extinguish ci******es fully and never discard them on the ground
🗑️ Take all litter home with you
⛺ Camp only where you have permission

The risk is real. Please take exceptional care and do nothing that could start a fire.
If you see fire or smoke, call 999 immediately. 🔥📞

A record numbers of puffins on Skomer!!! Wow, isn’t this fantastic! If you haven’t booked your Skomer trip yet, remember to do this online before your visit. Skomer boat trips sell out very quickly! 🙏🏻

Positive Puffin news!

We’re thrilled to announce another record-breaking year on Skomer Island with 52,019 Puffins recorded this spring.

Puffin numbers are declining at many sites around the UK, but Skomer bucks the trend – and it’s thanks to our long-term monitoring work that we know this.

Our annual counts are a core part of conservation work on Skomer. They help us to better understand how our seabird populations are changing both locally and nationally. This data helps us to inform our conservation work so we can better protect these special seabirds.
