Floor Envy!🤩

Here’s a recent job we undertook in the customers own choice of colours from the incredible J2 Flooring Kinsale range.

A classic Victorian era design with a modern twist, this customer opted to change a few things to get the colours and design they wanted in their new floor. Complimented perfectly with a diamond border, design strips and a black border infill. The results speak for themselves!

Going forward into the new year we have some exciting things lined up. So if you’re looking for something truly different, look no further!

All preparation works included plywood using flooring grade SP101 from Hanson Plywood Ltd.
PE630 Prime and fill from UZIN UK and finished with NC196 again from Uzin. As we always stress, it’s what’s underneath that really counts!

A collection of photos from a couple of herringbone jobs completed by the team. Showcasing you the two border options available when opting for a herringbone laying pattern.

The first being Amtico Spacia - Iced Oak completed with a full plank border, this brings a classic look with a modern twist. Rather than using a two block border, the full plank incorporates mitred corners and can help a smaller area feel more spacious.

The second set being Amtico Spacia - Pale Ash.
This leans to the traditional Herringbone floors you may see in older properties. Finished off with a two block border. Seeing the differences between the two shows which options are available to you and can ultimately help you make a decision on the look you are going for.

The carpets were also installed by the team and are an 80/20 wool twist from Greendale Carpets.

Check out this hall, stairs and landing completed by the team in a deep blue 80/20 from Penthouse.

With the hallway being fitted in Project floors in a straight laying pattern.
There’s a lot to be said for pastel colours! The contrast between the oak bannister and the mixture of greys and light colours in the LVT go hand in hand!

Another Amtico completed by the team for a returning customer.
This time in the Amtico Signature range - Fresh Oak.

A “soldiered” bullnose and fitted on the 45 with a border, which was complemented by a subtle copper feature strip to finish this one off.

The preparation work consisted of the installation of SP101 flooring grade plywood, topped off with Uzin smoothing compounds and suitable primers as always.

We bang on a lot about preparation and using top quality products, all for good reason.
When purchasing a floor that has guarantees that range from 15 years to lifetime. It’s imperative that whatever you place underneath the finished floor covering is going to perform for the full lifetime of the product, if not longer.

Here’s something a little different from the latest addition to the Amtico ranges we have in store. With this particular product being the Amtico First range.

The customer wanted something bespoke with a wow factor and wanted to step away from a herringbone laying option. So after discussing options of their desired look, this basket weave was created. With a collaboration of stone and wood effect. Complete with a border and continuing on with a straight laying pattern in other areas.

The stone effect tiles were re-cut by us to smaller 12”x12” tiles, re-bevelled and the rest is history.

“A belt and braces hold your pants up!”

Swipe for before/during and after!! Long post alert BUT worth the read!

This project entailed a fair bit of prep work before installing Karndean Designflooring UK Knight Tile Lime washed oak. Starting with the uplift of the existing Karndean flooring, which had issues with the smoothing compound underneath de-bonding due to excess moisture (damp course breach on the extension where walls were taken out) and also due to cracks in the subfloor, which ultimately led to a floor failure (NOT INITIALLY INSTALLED BY US.)
The smoothing compound and slab were ground back, then a full system of Uzin UK. Starting with two coats of DPM, whilst addressing the cracks with the correct products to prevent further issues later down the line.

We don’t want to bang the drum…but ensuring the company you choose has the correct knowledge in sub floor preparation is critical when it comes to resilient floor coverings…amongst other types of flooring for that matter. Especially considering the INVESTMENT you are making in your new design floor. After all, whatever is beneath the finished product has to last just as long (if not longer) as what’s above.

Thankfully, it’s something we certainly know a lot about. Our team are trained regularly on all aspects of flooring and floor preparation, so rest assured you’re in safe hands! Don’t believe us? Just ask, we love showing off our accreditations!
