A Spains purchased Panasonic TV (a few years ago) was wall mounted today in a bedroom. We extended the aerial lead, TV mains lead and hid the wires in some D-line trunking.

Was a little tricky to work in a cramped space but turned out ok.

Out went this 65" Panasonic Plasma TV + dated Bose surround sound system with external garden zone amplifier & in went a 83" Samsung OLED TV with Sonos ARC ULTRA soundbar with 2 x Sonos ERA300 Dolby Atmos rear speakers & 2 x Sonos SUB4 subwoofers + a Sonos Amp to power the 4 existing garden zone speakers.

What an upgrade!

Using Sanus wall mount kits for the TV, ARC ULTRA & ERA300 speakers.

We had to use some trunking to hide the cables as it was the only way to hide them. Thankfully plenty of homely things at the rear to hide the trunking.

Now every night is a move night when your TV is 83" BIG! & the customer has full control of the outdoor speakers even when outside rather than having to come back inside to change songs.

Not all jobs are lovely new wall mounted OLED TVs & soundbars. Last week we went to a customer who keeps loosing stations when we have clear skies & warm temperatures.

Modern TVs have an auto tune feature that checks tuning when off (standby) This TV seems to be more sensitive to signal than others.

Now we have been out a few times to re-tune the TV and all is good until the weather changes back to clear skies & warm temperatures.

This TV was jumping TV transmitters from Sutton Coldfield to a local transmitter in Redditch. The customer lives within 1 mile of the Redditch TX but the aerial is pointed to Sutton Coldfield TX.

Fingers crossed fitting 2 x 6DB attenuators will sort it. These lower the in-coming signal which can be checked with the TVs built in signal meter so the TV will ignore the local Redditch TX when in standby. This was checked by re-tuning before & after fitting the attenuators.

Strangely the TV has a function to turn off that retune function but it still seems to happen! All the usual steps were taken like software update & factory reset had been done too.

Just installed this super thin Samsung 55" S95F top of the range QD-OLED TV this morning. This has a detachable connection box if you want to the wiring away from the screen. We didn't this time but cool idea though.

The customer had Sky Stream & this new Bose soundbar which we connected up to the TV too. Only on a temporary stand, it was a bit high!
