**CHARITY COLOURWAY**
So. Here's the thing. At least once in each of our lives, all of us will be touched by the utter bastard that is cancer. Whether that be directly experiencing it or having a loved one fight this terrible disease.
I found out recently that my wonderful friend Mandie has been diagnosed with stage 4 bile duct/liver cancer. We first met when she opened her home to myself and two other indie dyers, putting us up for the weekend of a yarn show near where she lives. Yarn and knitting is how we met.
Mandie contacted me a couple of days ago to request a 'F**K CANCER' colourway to make a beanie and I was/am honoured. I had been pondering a charity colourway to raise money for a cancer charity, so I've decided to combine the two. Of course Mandie designed the colourway: she went for the ribbon colours of liver/bile duct cancer and thyroid cancer, with a touch of added golden yellow.
This colourway is called F**K CANCER. You may be offended by the name, and that's ok. I didn't choose it but I absolutely approve, because that's the bottom line isn’t it? F**K. CANCER.
This colourway will be available until the end of April, and £5 from the sale of each skein will go to Cancer Research UK, as selected by Mandie.
The final word goes to my friend: "Research and awareness my have uncovered my cancers quicker but now I am stage 4 and incurable. Also using AI in detection is blowing my my mind in a good way."
