** Individual Healthcare Professional ID card **
Upon registration with the HCPC, registrants used to be issued with a card showing name, professional title, registration number and the expiry date however, in recent years these have been stopped.
With Paramedics and other healthcare professionals now working increasingly as sole traders, this ID card is designed to show the professional registration number and provides professionals with a QR code which can be scanned by patients, customers and clients to show the registrants live HCPC register check.
Printed on Dystar Premium-Quality CR80 (standard credit card size) PVC, these cards are durable and will sit comfortably in a purse, wallet, handbag or ID card holder. .
On purchasing a card, customers will be sent a link to an online form to fill out all text fields. Once this form has been completed, the card can be produced and dispatched – Usually the same working day!
PLEASE NOTE: Professions regulated by the HCPC have one or more “designated titles”. These titles are protected by law. This means that anyone who uses a designated title must be on the HCPC Register.
Article 39(1) of the Health Professions Order 2001 makes it a criminal offence for a person, with intent to deceive (whether clearly or by implication) to:
• say that they are on the HCPC Register;
• use a designated title to which they are not entitled; or
• say falsely that they have qualifications in a profession we regulate.
The words “by implication” mean that an unregistered person may be committing an offence even if they do not use the designated title directly (for example, if they describe the service they provide as “chiropody” or “physiotherapy”).
Due to this, in order to purchase one of these personalised ID cards, we require a copy of your Confirmation of Registration which is available via your HCPC online account. We can provide a guide on how to access this.
Furthermore – ID cards printed with designated titles on can only be dispatched to addresses shown on the confirmation of registration documents.
