Well, would you look at us… Portknockie Fish & Chip Shop has made it into another M J Elliott novel! 😂👏

Local author M J Elliott has a new book, BETRAYAL, coming soon and once again our wee chippy gets a mention. ❤️

Apparently after driving for nearly nine hours, one of the characters pulls off the A98 at the Portknockie Fish & Chip Shop sign and looks out towards the North Sea.

Quite right too 😂
Nine hours driving? Get that woman a fish supper immediately! 🐟🍟

Maisie has already found the relevant chapter and is taking her role in promoting local literature VERY seriously. Although, as you can see, the fish & chips may be receiving slightly more attention than the plot 🤣🐶📖

The book isn’t officially out yet, but signed copies can be pre-ordered now, with local delivery available - a lovely way to support a local author ✍️

Late with today’s post… but in my defence, Charlie the Hoover has been in intensive care 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Thankfully Ian has performed emergency surgery and Charlie is back among us although his tail is now under strict protection! 😂

Now… Sundays! 👀

For some reason, Sunday is always the day everyone forgets about us until teatime. 😂
Not so many early phone orders… then suddenly EVERYBODY WALKS IN AT ONCE! 🤣

The buzzers can be in and out two or three times over so if you know you’re having a chippy tonight, PLEASE give us a wee phone beforehand 📞🙏

Pre-ordering means:
✅ Less hanging about
✅ We can give you a collection time
✅ And you don’t have to watch everyone else disappearing happily with their fish suppers while you wait 😂

It’s that time of year again… NEW TATTIES! 🙌🥔

And being Saturday, it’s changeover day so while we’re saying cheerio to some of our visitors, there’ll be a whole new bunch arriving and wondering where to get their first fish supper. 👀🐟🍟

If you’re wondering what to do for tea, leave the cooking to us. We’re firing up the fryers and will be open from 4:30pm as usual.
