The importance in germination of light ! This is Monarda punctata- both sown on the same day same conditions ( literally next to each other) but one had compost on top and one was surface sown. Uncovered took 8 days to germinate , still waiting to see what happens with the uncovered . Needless to say I’ll be surface sowing in future !
