What a fabulous day for a visit to The Lost Gardens of Heligan. The new Lowarnes fox sculpture is amazing, and the Spring flowers are looking pretty good too. 🌲🌿🍃

This year's Winter flower garland at Cotehele is a stunner! Great to see that the Spring flowers are already starting to bloom in the gardens, always something to produce a smile on a bitterly cold December day.

Had a trip down to Plymouth yesterday for a long overdue catch up with a friend who moved to Ivybridge a couple of years ago. The three of us had a lovely walk around the estate trail followed by lunch and drinks in the stable cafe. I am so glad that we ignored the weather forecast as it stayed dry all day until I dropped my other friend off in Bude.

The best of the weather arrived on our last day, just in time for a walk along our favourite stretch of the Cornish Coast Path. Parked at The Lizard, walked across the fields to Kynance Cove and then along the coast path to Lizard Point and Housel Bay. The sunshine was glorious, showing the views at their absolute best. We even saw choughs in good numbers. Finished the day off with fish and chips from Smugglers chippy eaten outdoors in the late sunshine.

Spent an interesting morning walking around today. The garden is packed with interest, is beautifully maintained and the magnificent views across Mounts Bay can be easily admired from various well positioned viewpoints.

We first visited back in the early 1980's and always love to call in whenever we're staying in this part of Cornwall. We're grateful for the care and compassion given to these lovely creatures allowing them to be returned to the sea once recovered, or keeping them safe and happy at Gweek if they cannot fend for themselves in the wild. There are puffins and beavers too.

What a beautiful morning for a wander along the coast path to Poldhu Cove. Hard to believe it's mid October.

The weather was so good that I made a small detour off the M5 earlier today to have a mooch around . Much prettier than Taunton Deane services, and it made a nice break on the long journey back to Cornwall.

Another trip along the North Cornwall coast, this time to Trerice near Newquay. The poppies looked stunning, but the lavender is only just starting to flower. I imagine the scent in a week or two will be amazing.

An interesting morning looking around the fascinating Poison Garden and the grade I listed parish church of St. Mary at Kelly House near Lifton.
